Bloodletter reminded me a bit of an early serious Bones episode, minus the super nerdy forensic bits and David Boreanaz. It had a fast pace, lots of twists and turns to keep me guessing and a handful of lead characters with a good dynamic but who could use a bit more development.

Kelly Garrett is a criminologist. She and her team are investigating a series of gory murders where the killer appears to be toying with them. On each victim the killer hides a “clue” in the form of a commandment of hi

Kelly, Nina and Chad are criminalists with the Nakeita police department. The book opens with them looking for clues around the body of a young woman who has been sexually assaulted and murdered. While still trying to find the assailant/murderer, they are called to another case – this one a very strange murder. A young woman, owner of a daycare center, has been viciously murdered and dismembered. Among the clues left at the scene is the commandment “Thou shalt not kill”; written in the victim’s ...more

Thou shalt not kill.A contradictory message written in blood at the scene of a young woman's murder. Within days, another body surfaces with a similar calling card and, to Detective Ramon Faust and Criminalist Kelly Garret, it's clear a deadly game is underfoot.

As the rash of horrific crimes continue, a phone call unearths a shocking revelation: Nakeita isn't the first city the elusive killer has left his mark. The Bloodletter, as dubbed by the media, has played his deadly game before.

"Bloodletter" by Angel Haze
Please note! 4.5/5

Imagine having to pay up for your abominable sins while still breathing, clinging to a shred of hope. That’s a bad enough thought, but now envision your mad-as-hell punisher is the Grim Reaper...mercy is nowhere to be found. For the unfortunate victims in “Bloodletter,” by Angel Haze, the last seconds of their lives must have stretched into anguish filled, insanely painful moments of monumental regret. It’s been said there are things worse than death,

Kelly Garret, Bloodletter's primary protagonist, is a criminalist living and working in the town of Nakeita. She seems to have it all= a great job, awesome friends, a loving boyfriend... until she realizes that her current case is starting to hit a little too close to home.

There is a serial killer out there that is using the Ten Commandments as an excuse to brutally murder those who don't uphold them, or at least the version of them that the killer has created. Kelly and her team are forced to g

Haze does a great job creating an exciting, bloody mystery novel that keeps readers engaged and rapidly turning the pages. I found myself constantly trying to figure out the identity of the Grim Reaper, though no matter how close I thought I was, I never pinpointed his/her identity until the big reveal. While there was foreshadowing, Haze does a phenomenal job blindsiding the reader, keeping interest piqued with all the new information as crime after crime is committed, killing off despicable pe ...more

Vivid crime scenes, gripping suspense, and childhood drama all come together to create "Bloodletter."

Come follow three skilled criminalists as they work with the police force to try to end the killing spree that seems to be running rampant through their town. Beginning with a rape and homicide, and moving to several gruesome murders, these three are baffled by the lack of evidence to figure out any suspects. Kelly, it seems has even more to contend with in spite of all this on her job. She must

Angel sent me this book to review and I have to say I am glad because I really enjoyed this book.

As a fan of Criminal Minds and C.S.I this book had the analisis of the criminal behaviour and the lab parts.

The main protagonist is Kelly Garret a criminalist in the town of Nakeita, she's a good cop and is the daughter of one. At first Kelly seems to have a perfect life: good friends, a good job and the man of her dreams, but these killings will dig up pieces of her past long forgotten.

Watching this through many eyes makes it so exciting to try to figure out who is the murderer. There are so many suspects that fit into the guilty category that it keeps you guessing from the first murder. This fast paced game of cat and mouse is inventive and imaginative with very vivid scenes sketched out for you.

I was really intrigued to figure out how all the things linked together and who was responsible for the devastating and cruel manner in which some were taken. I was in the dark up unt

Angel has been plotting murders since she was fourteen. It started with wild beasts, then serial killers, and later branched into other fantasy worlds and battles of the ancient past. She has a twisted fascination delving into the minds and motivations of infamous serial killers and conquerors—from Ted Bundy to Genghis Khan.

Although she went through school for policing, the only killers, dead bodi
