idek what to rate this??? would never read if it weren’t for school it’s painful to get through bc of how fact based it is and there are only small portions of actual discussion but it is a decent overview of the war which i guess is in the intention. i did. somewhat enjoy bc i’m a history nerd tho🔥

This was an excellent introduction to the Civil War. It was easy to read, with enough detail to explain the war, but not so much to get you bogged down.

A clear description of events written from an eighties perspective which has been lurking on my shelf for more than thirty years after seeing the TV series shortly before. More maps would help, but that's a minor criticism these days with their easy availablity online. It would have been more of an issue in 1985 (or 1885.)
