a fun and imaginative look at how we might undertake interstellar travel. thoughtful throughout, berry concludes with a meditation on the likely conclusion of the universe.
Though slightly dated the book covers a wide variety of subjects that are relevant to the colonisation of the stars. The basic theories that are needed to accomplish this are explained in in quite advanced detail for a popular science book as well as the various technologies and ship designs that would be needed to accomplish this task. The author does on occasion come up with some figures that are not independetly referenced but using the old brain you can see that they are resonable. Overall an excellent read and a good introduction to the subject if you know nothing of it but at the same time technical enough that those more informed will enjoy it greaty as well! Excellent stuff!
