Miscamble’s book provides excellent groundwork to Truman’s transitional foreign policy and the evolution of the Cold War. Miscamble delivers a diplomatic history that sets out to correct simplistic analyses that have placed fault for the Cold War solely with Truman’s policies. Way more detail on the Roosevelt to Truman transition that most people would want. But it had some interesting insights into the decision to drop the atomic bombs.
