Inspiring story of a Vietnam Vet overcoming agonizing obstacles, and going on to become a U.S. Senator. When I first read this books years ago, I started loaning or recommending this book to clients going through either a difficult time, thinking they couldn't make it through, and also to men searching for inspiration to move into greater contributions to society. It's tough to find books that men, and especially veterans, can relate to, making this a must-have for a therapist working with military veterans.

Autobiography of U.S. Senator Max Cleland, who lost both legs and an arm in a grenade explosion during the Vietnam War. Moving and inspiring. Quick read. Timely subject with all the wounded soldiers returning from Iraq.

A compelling story of a man who became a triple amputee while serving in Vietnam. A personal account of his triumphs, defeats, darkest moments, hopes and dreams. What an amazing man!
