In her newest foray into the world of strange and wonderful relationships, Dr. Joy Browne shares honest-to-goodness, true-life people and situations with you that will either make you feel right at home or that your own tragic stories pale in comparison to; and she gives you the specific step-by-step options to either continue to strive for true misery or opt for more sanity should you so choose. She starts out with personal ads too frightening to be true—but they are; takes you along on doomed first dates into the hearts, closets, and messy kitchens of lonely singles everywhere; gives you ten—count ’em, ten—surefire ways to doom any date; and then looks into the future . . . to toxic dating and beyond. The choice is dating disasters . . . or how to avoid them.
I found this book to be interesting. Dr. Joy Browne details how to avoid dating the wrong guy (or how to attract one if that's what you want). She talks about guys who are too good to be true (married, separated, recently divorced, and stuck). The dance away lovers and a 'decalogue' of dunces. She then offers advice about how not to ruin a first impression or first date. And things to avoid doing while dating someone. This is very useful for anyone for is currently or thinking about dating.
