For such a time as this. The title of this three volumne set of devotions comes from a thought that Mordecai brought to Queen Ester's attention during days of trial and tribulation for the Old Testament people of God.
We used this book for our family devotions for a while now and we really enjoyed this book, particularly this volume as it touched on familiar Bible stories of Jesus in the Gospels. These devotions were perfect for our developmentally delayed son too. They were not too long and the language was simple and easy for him to understand without talking down or being too simplistic since his receptive language skills exceed his expressive ones. I liked that the same Bible story would be revisited over successive days, bringing out different aspects and going a bit deeper each time. The revisits were good for building understanding and comprehension with our son, but the different perspectives also encouraged adult conversation and enriched our souls as well. I highly recommend this volume of the series.
As with a lot of books, you might not agree with absolutely everything, which is true for me in this case - but what I did agree with was a great encouragement to me.
