What’s more fun than a cannibalistic Hulk?

Off the top of my head, I can’t think of anything.

It seems that there’s a pathogen that’s changing human DNA and is making everyone crave human flesh. Ground zero was when, in the middle of a hockey game at Madison Square Garden, Spider-Man decided to snack on The Rhino. Yummy!

The Webhead is looking a little peaked, no?

The Marvel universe eggheads are hard pressed to combat this in a timely manner because it’s at the DNA level or whatever the pseudo-sc

This is a prequel to Punisher Vs The Marvel Universe where Frank Castle fought a number of Marvel superheroes who had become infected with a virus that turned them into soulless cannibalistic killers.

We discover the origins of the plague, find out who started the ball rolling on the apocalypse, and see the team of scientists, made up of Reed Richards, Hank Pym and Hank McCoy, who are searching frantically for a cure. But they’re up against it when Hulk becomes one of the infected and only Wolve

Not entirely sure how this connects to Marvel U versus Punisher, but Frank is a major character here alongside Logan.

Spider Man kills and eats Rhino, is locked up by the FF...Wolverine loses Psylocke and gets angry...also ends up having to kill a bunch of friends.

Reed, T'Challa, Hanks Pym and McCoy are working on a cure, but Spider Man breaks out and kills some, turns others.

Punisher's blood may hold the key...so Logan has to track him down. This leads to stuff between them.

Also, the turned ones

Another great one from Maberry. Similar to his Punisher series, most of the Marvel Universe is turning to zombies, and only a handful of heroes remains to stop them. This series focuses on Wolverine, but The Punisher also plays a major part. The final issue also has quite a scene with Captain America. Maberry never disappoints, and he didn't here! If I had known The Punisher also played such a big role I'd have read this long before now! Good art as well!

Should appeal to Wolverine fans, horror f

Good! Another story which I read along time ago but am only reviewing now! So if you have read Punisher vs Marvel Universe or Hawkeye vs Marvel Universe, this is pretty much the same! Its pretty much Walking Dead, Marvel Style! The differences in the different series are basically from who's perspective, this one being Wolverines. Overall a nice read! ...more

This is a companion volume to Marvel Universe vs. The Punisher and Marvel Universe vs. The Avengers. (As always, it would have helped if Marvel would have had a brief summary of continuity at the beginning.) Logan is the main guy in this one, obviously, but there are lots of other appearances, including a particularly poignant Punisher with Cap scene. Maberry has also again succeeded in writing Deadpool so that he's likable, which I didn't think was possible until I read this series. The end of ...more

I love everything Wolverine so it was with great anticipation that I picked this novel up. It starts off amazingly well but peters out towards the somewhat unfulfilling end. It's still very interesting and some parts are stellar; one could say it is "strong coming out of the gate but not much of a finisher". ...more

A fantastic continuation of this dark and gritty world. Getting the perspective of a hero who has faced death time and time again, surviving each time, as he faces a virus that not only destroys the body but the mind, transforming his friends into living monsters, is a wildly unique story. The fight for the survival of humanity and the battle against former friends and heroes who have become the enemy overnight makes this a one of a kind read, with visceral artwork that depicts the brutal new Ma ...more

The Second Part of Jonathan Maberry's Trilogy, shows us the start of the Plague and Wolverine's part in it.
This is a damn good story of survival and hope.

Following the sleeper hit volume that set the Punisher against cannibalistic Marvel heroes, this collection looks at the early days of the Marvel Universe plague. Wolverine is placed at the center of this story, as he attempts to help Reed Richards, T'Challa, Henry Pym, and the Beast uncover what turned Spider-Man into a killer. Despite attempts to come up with a cure, the heroes soon learn that the cannibal gene is within all of them - and slowly winning out. Wolverine must slaughter the flesh- ...more

Without too many spoilers. This is a zombie style narrative of the Marvel Universe variety. The 'Marvel Universe Vs. Wolverine' title is a bit of a misnomer, as he does have partners, but this is a very bleak story. This story shows the extremes of the human condition and when times are so desperate, the survival of the human race depends on Deadpool!! (and that's really bad!)

There's a lot of comedy in this part, especially the last two chapters, but overall the story highlights the different ki

Pretty fun. Marvel Zombies-- Oh wait we can't say that in this book for some reason (we know the reason). Marvel Cannibals in a Walking Dead daydream. Paints the story in quick, broad strokes for the most part. It does not come to much in the end, but it is part 1 of a loose trilogy of Marvel Universe vs. [insert someone here]. I am interested to see how it ultimately turns out. ...more

A solid what-if tale with simple and sharp characterisation, appropriately moody art and an expertly chosen and applied colour palette. Straightforward, sharp, and doesn't try to be anything other than what it is, which I respected within the context of the tale. ...more

Great! Mayberry demonstrates a great love and knowledge of the Marvel universe even as he destroys it, and Campbell does an excellent job of translating Maberry's vision into a compelling visual story. * Not for the little kiddies.
