I've got an earlier edition of this book, but this is the one I've been using for years for my elementary age students. There are a ton of great concepts in here explained in ways younger students can understand. There are also a lot of ideas for experiments that can be replicated in the kitchen. The book is very dense. I can't imagine covering it all in one year. We've used the first half for physical science and the second half for elementary chemistry.
