Navajo medicine man Lucas Tso had a special gift—psychic powers, coupled with vivid dreams about a mysterious woman. But when he came face-to-face with her, he wasn't prepared for the feelings that stirred within him. FBI agent Teal Benaly was investigating a murder on the reservation, and Lucas wanted to protect her from the evil shapeshifters that had declared war on the Navajo people. Dark forces tempted him to their side, and he'd need Teal's help—and her love— to keep him alive.

Medicine man, Lucas, has been dreaming about a woman, one particular woman,Teal, for years. Teal was raised in the white man's world with their beliefs, Lucas on the res with their beliefs. Teal is FBI, Lucas is a part of the Brotherhood - a society against evil on the reservation. Teal has been assigned to work with Lucas and the Reservation law enforcement, a world totally alien to her. This is a part of the Night Guardian series, which I've been reading out of order and am way behind on. I love Linda Conrad's writings.
A quick read about a Navajo woman who did not grow up in the Navajo way. She is a newly trained FBI agent sent to investigate on the reservation. When she gets there, she is rescued by Lucas Tso. When he sees Teal's face, Lucas realizes that she is the woman who has been in his dreams since he was a child.
Had a hard time getting into this story. Finally gave up around page 91.
I found the heroine had one of the traits I really dislike in any characters - she was stubborn to a fault and want to do everything herself thinking asking for help was a sign of weakness. I can't help but this she was meant to be independent, but this attitude came off as something else completely for me.
