Shelves: beisbol, california, new
Sure, the writing tends to the florid, with the authors evincing a fondness for unnecessary metaphors. But as a detailed, series by series recap of Los Gigantes magical season, this is a priceless aide memoire, bringing one back to afternoons in the bleachers, October evenings in front of television sets, and one glorious November 3 (not the first day, as the authors sometimes misstate) in downtown San Francisco. This goes in the time capsule with the World Series DVDs.
