I won this via a drawing on thefrugalereader.com from the author Peg Herring. I enjoyed the tale quite a bit. I like following the story within the story. In one portion you're following the distant tale of John via the Vicar's musings of the narrative and the other your in the present with Mercedes hazardous venture. There were a few occasions (in the present time) the tale seemed to skip ahead leaving me to wonder if I missed a page somehow. I was paging back to check. Somewhat reminding me of ...more

I enjoyed this book and, as a fan of Shakespeare, I found the author knowledgeable and clever in her use of Macbeth and other works in this book. This was a very plot driven book, not a ton of character development but it was a good story, so I didn't miss it.

The one thing that DROVE ME NUTS was the lack of good Kindle formatting. Paragraphs were indented five spaces in, ten spaces in, double spaced before and after, and sometimes not. At one point single lines of dialogue were centered on the p

A bit slow to start but ended well. Interesting ideas on Shakespeare and his writings. Not the best book ever, but an interesting read nonetheless.
