Annie Rayburn has created a world within our own. The Crainesian race came to live on earth after their own planet disintegrated, and because their own physicalities are so similar to humans', they blend into society and intermarry with humans successfully.
Unless one comes into contact with their Lifemate. Crainesians feel the physical pull towards their Lifemates as early as first meeting, and their highly evolved empathic nature knows from the moment they lay eyes on each other, This is the p

Bittersweet Obsessions is a hot, emotional read! I loved it! I was hooked from the first emotionally and erotically charged scene until the last page. Annie Rayburn has created a unique and fascinating culture and paranormal race with her Crainesians. I love the way she showed the intense chemistry that is part of her characters' biological makeup and I loved watching the characters move beyond that and achieve an even more intense emotional connection. The ending is especially moving and a fant ...more

Bittersweet Obsessions is a story that puts a whole new story on finding your one true mate but you can never have them.

Teriza is a strong woman and she has been given her grandmother’s house and decides that she needs to redo the ground work around the house. She goes to the best landscaper. All and behold she runs into her life-mate and he’s married. What’s a girl to do. She is a woman with g

I found the plot to this story hugely fascinating. In a way it isn’t new, you can read any shifter book and it talks about “mates” but the authors approach was unique and kept me entirely captivated. A little too captivated as I got so sucked into the emotional impact of the characters that it was hard to let go of the melancholy once the story was over.

All the characters are well written and three dimensional. Even the so called “bad guys”

I won this paranormal sci fi romance (slightly erotic) in a contest and am so glad I did. Nothing upsets me more than unrequited love, so I knew there'd be heartbreak in this story after I read the blurb, but once I started, I couldn't stop. My toddler went without her bath and barely got fed supper!

I sympathized for every single character in Bittersweet Obsessiosn. They were all victims of chance and had to find their own path to deal with all the fallout. I'm so glad we got to see Deacon and S

This was my first Paranormal Romance book I read, and I guess since that was the case I was a little confused in the beginning but then I got right into the story.

I loved the soul-mate attraction. I loved the chemistry.

If you are a paranormal reader this is one you shouldn't miss! If you never read one or just touching into this genre this is one to start with!

This is a great Debut for Annie Rayburn! I look forward in reading more of her work.

Note: my "reviews" don't tell the story because I

All the characters are well written and three dimensional. Even the so called “bad guys” were anything but and pulled you into their own individual stories. I love Teriza, there is something queenly about her. Despite all that she goes through, all the pain and confusion, she still carries herself with grace. All together what I really loved about this book was that it was thought provoking, it called to the honor inside me and asked me “What would I do had I been in this situation?”

2.5 stars good characters

The overall premise of the book was original and intriguing, but the execution was lacking. For how the story was developed the characters were okay, the back stories could have dug deeper. We are basically are just given why they are up to the point they are. The switching of characters felt very choppy and confusing at times, which is why I rated the book fairly low. It had minor errors but nothing too cringe worthy. As a reader I was left with more questions than answ

I really enjoyed Bittersweet Obsessions. It was a really hear felt romance that deals with finding the one that you were meant to be with. But you find out that they are already with someone else. So do you just give up or do you find someone else? How do you know if your just with the person because you missed your chance or, or they the next chance you have?
