Dag Ryen's book is primarily for middle grades and above, but it is a concise and readable history of Lexington, Ky., through the late 20th century. It provides information about notable individuals, historic sites, and other things that make up the past and present of the Bluegrass city. I would recommend this book for anyone living in central Kentucky who wants to know about their heritage and for others who have an interest in Kentucky history.
