This book contains a great step by step program, but I would recommend reading it in little chunks at a time when you can fully concentrate on what you are reading. The only thing that I really disagreed with which she menioned a few times was using the stick on the horse's shoulder. I feel the stick/crop should only be used behind the saddle when needed. There were also a couple of parts where I felt more clarification was needed for the general audience to fully visualize the images she was trying to describe.

This is terrific, stem by step, guide to effective flatwork and jumping. AK is well known for being a huge believer in correct flatwork and she takes you through a dozen or more exercises that are beneficial to both your horse and you. There are photos and diagrams illustrating everything described and all the writing is well laid out and easy to follow. This is a must-have for the thinking rider's shelf.
