While most astrology books focus on sun signs only, the most obvious things about us our personality and physical type are mostly determined by the zodiac sign on the eastern horizon at the precise moment of birth. This sign is referred to as our rising sign. Whereas the sun sign represents the ego expression, the rising sign signifies the physical type and personality, which are the tools we use to get what we want. This book guides readers toward an accurate assessment of their rising signs, and then shows how, in conjunction with one?s sun sign, understanding the meaning of the rising sign will enable you to get what you want out of life.
This is a great book for beginner's and to get your juices flowing if you're wondering about interpretations but it doesn't go too in depth on your rising sign, signification of ruling planets and what that would mean. I think this is more for people just learning what their big 3 means but for the nitty gritty info on the rising sign, I'd get a more in depth or advanced book that breaks things down (info about common traits with rising sign, physical appearance and traits, life trajectory, house breakdowns, health ailments, ruling planet significations, and possibly differences determined based on the placement of your chart ruler/ruling planet-- that's not in this book). But other than that, it's a nice "getting to know" book for the signs on the ascendant to give you an idea. It also promised how to approach life in the intro for each rising sign, but I didn't really see too much past the intro on how to do that (why I bought book) but oh well.
