Disappointing

Started out inspiring, thought provoking. Became a book about doctors and their difficulties dealing with feelings and emotions. At one point he writes about being called in the night by the ER and an internal argument about not wanting to go in. He had a choice to not do that anymore. I missed the point. Thinking to myself I wish I could wake up and not be a patient anymore. It circles back at the end as almost an afterthought that he was helping others to live and make choices.

If you are struggling with how to live normally while undergoing medical treatment, I would recommend this book. I particularly enjoyed Chapters 4, 8 and the conclusion.
