About the author

Myra Cohn Livingston was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Her family moved to California when she was 12 years old. She studied the French horn from age 12 to age 20, becoming so good that the Los Angeles Philharmonic invited her to join them when she was 16 years old. She had other plans. She knew she wanted to write.

Totally fun excercise fo writing poetry within a perameter of words. Nice mentor text.

This is a fun little book! A college professor gave individuals in her class identical words (three or six) and then had them each write any poem they wanted, as long as they contained those words. Similar to Paint Chip Poetry. Very fun!

I'd forgotten about this book - but what a great idea for a program - give four words and create a poem or story or... So writers sent in their poems based on this challenge. pretty interesting. especially to compare poems written with the same four words that are so different!
