Few people do training story arcs like Masashi Kishimoto. Sure, for the longest time it seemed like Yoshihiro Togashi of Yu Yu Hakusho fame was the shonen manga-ka most (in)famous for his training arcs, which were usually very long and very multi-layered, but recently Kishimoto has shown us what he can really do with some age-old genre tropes, and what comes out of all of this is volume fifty-three of Naruto, in which Naruto fights himself and then fights inside himself, only to find some unexpe ...more

We finally get to learn about what happened 16 years ago to Naruto when he was born and let me tell you it is a tearjerker (well to me it is). But it also shows that no matter where your loved ones are they will always still love you no matter what!!! This series man is so good!!!!

This is my favorite volume out of the whole manga, it's actually one of the few volumes I own a printed copy of.

I knew what would happen, I read it many times but I still cried like the first time ❤️

Having been inspired by the forgiveness Bee showed Motoi, Naruto is able to conquer his evil side by acceptance (or something like that). Inside the waterfall, Bee tells Naruto that he will have to forcibly take the Nine Tails' chakra and make it his own. To do this, Naruto will have to undo the seal.

Bee holds the Nine Tails down and Naruto pulls on his chakra, but he almost loses himself to the Nine Tails' hatred until his mother appears. Kushina tells Naruto how she meet Minato when she first

This is a review of the entire series.

Once upon a time, the spirit of an evil Nine Tailed Fox wreaked havoc on Konohagakure; the Village Hidden in the Leaves, killing hundreds of honorable ninja in the skirmish and leaving many children without homes or parents. The Fourth Hokage (leader of the village) unleashes a forbidden jutsu (magic spell/ninja ability) to seal the spirit of the evil fox into the body of a newborn baby named Naruto at the cost of his own life. He did this in the hopes that

Isn't it sad when the flashback volumes are more interesting than the main storyline? I got just enough to be intrigued and I'll never be satisfied. I want to know more about Hashirama Mito! I want to see Kushina's friendship with Mikoto! I want to flash forward to the future and see if Naruto and Sasuke get married because Kishimoto is pulling out every shoujo destiny marker I know of! (Okay that last one wasn't about backstory, sorry. Kishimoto's just so blatant, it's slid into actively irrita ...more

So this entire sequence was awesome. Not only do we have an epic battle with himself, but Naruto is taking on his demon as a one-on-one battle... sort of.

I always wondered what his mother was like, and even more so, I wanted to know about the full circumstances of the demon fox's sealing and Naruto's parent's deaths. So much pathos. I loved it.

I loved the waterfall of truth sequence. We all have a bit of negativity hidden in our hearts, be it anger, resentment, hatred, ego, etc. This volume taught me that accepting and acknowledging that ugly part is important to eradicate it.

At the time of this review, I have read volumes 40-43, 45, 47-48, and 53-54, which means I will try to focus only on the current view. With that said, let's talk about volume 53.

The only thing I am going to say about this volume is I love this passage by one of the characters. "Naruto don't be a picky eater...Eat a lot and grow well! Make sure...to bathe every day...and stay warm...and...don't stay up late...get...plenty of sleep...!!! Plus...make friends...You don't need tons...okay...?! Just a

To be honest, after reading the little dedication on the first page I thought I was gonna give this one five stars with my eyes closed, and even though I liked it, I'm sad to say that isn't the case. Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing Naruto's mom, and the whole thing in the past was pretty great, getting here and there little nods to stuff we already knew and getting to see the whole story and how some characters were 16 years ago, and while by the end I was in tears I didn't loved it; I just h ...more

Finished it 10 minutes ago and I'm still a sobbing mess... God, this was beautiful. I used to think Minato and Kushina were awful parents for locking Kyubi into Naruto but holy shit, I wasn't expecting this. The scene of their death with Kushina giving smol Nard advices about life gave me chills and made me cry more than I thought I would... And damn, Minato is the cutest human being I have ever seen I'm not kidding ...more

Overall Rating: 9/10 - This is basically a re-read for me as I have been reading Naruto since 2002, and I read every initial chapter release. There is just so much I can say about Naruto all of it Naruto, except the Kaguya part. I firmly believe it was a useless plot in a way and i would have been more content if we would have gone directly to the Naruto/ Sasuke fight after Madara's "defeat" (seriously he wasn't defeated just used, like Obito, like so many others....). I don't feel like I should ...more
