While I don't typically comment on "field guides" or "travel guides", this book is worthy of note. Ellen gives great advice on hiking with dogs including emergency situations and concerns for certain trails at particular times of the year. Besides, she's a greater writer and an even better photographer. The only thing missing in this book is color photographs. But you are interested in her photographer it is recommend to pick up a copy of In Search of Ancient Oregon.
