I didn't like the way this book was structured. The author basically takes you through steps to show examples of how to do stuff, but there are weak background explanations to go with these step by step examples. You may pick some stuff up during these exercises, but I don't think it is the best or most effective way to learn something new. Around chapter 4 I gave up and got another book that looked like it would do a better job.

Understandable, step-by-step walk-through. I would have liked to see reviews/tests because that's what I like, but they did provide many exercises to walk you through what you need to do to write scripts. Very detailed. Lots of tables with quick-reference-style lists. The included CD contains useful script examples. A decent intro.
