Revised and updated for 2011, the fifth edition of Life Skills 101: A Practical Guide to Leaving Home and Living on Your Own is a valuable guide to the complete spectrum of skills required to successfully master the challenges of being a responsible adult; whether that means living alone, with roommates or even with Mom and Dad. Subjects include financial know-how, job search success; interview, social, dining and workplace etiquette, consumer savvy, home hunting and lease negotiations. The guide provides the reader with essential advice on maintaining their home, car, laundry, time and well-being. The book also includes effective suggestions on saving and stretching one's money, as well as positive actions for practicing environmental awareness.
Great tips for people who are living on their own for the first time. I already knew all these things and still found 2 or 3 good pieces of information.
I'm the wrong audience for this book. It's the perfect guide for someone in high school or barely in college (basically ages 15-20). It's for someone that wants to be independent but has no idea where to start. So although I personally didn't learn anything from it, I acknowledge it would be a really good book for someone in that target audience
This book helpful, however it did leave me asking some questions. It could have been better if it covered just a little bit more information. I wish there was a guide that covered areas such as this and more for people with disabilities or more interest to me, a living on your own guide for people with learning differences.
