Madeline Stevens was raised in a fashion that guaranteed she would never fit in and make friends. A daughter of a strict preacher, and her future set in stone, she makes a drastic choice to prevent her future from happening. However, she wants to have fun and break some of her family rules first. Reece Summerall is a Sanguine, which isn't considered a bad thing unless you are in certain cities. It is by an odd and unique setting that he meets Madeline. They have a connection, but when he interfe ...more

An enjoyable read told through the first person account of the main 2 characters, Madeline Stevens & Reece Summerall.

Reece Summerall never thought there would be someone for him until he sees Madeline Stevens, a dowdy librarian who has lived a very sheltered life. One night Madeline decides to commit suicide, but before she does she wants to live a little. Coming across an ad in a phone book she is curious and places an order for the Midnight Special and shortly after midnight Reece arrives

Great read!

One of the perils of intro-ing a new storyline/world/perspective is that sometimes it is tough for the reader to catch up. I had no such problem! I'm not sure if it's because I read so much paranormal/urban fantasy that I just go with it until I've figured it all out, or the author used established rules/lexicon of the urban fantasy genre and changed it up to make it truly hers. Whatever the reason, it all just worked for me! The only reason why I didn't give it five stars was I'm now

I really enjoyed this book. These days, it's not easy to come up with an original twist on vampires, but this author managed it. If only this book had been edited better. Even all the typos couldn't ruin it, though.

I've been writing for about twelve years now, beginning with fanfiction. I published my first book in 2001, with a revised version in 2004.

My hope is to find a good following of readers who enjoy my work. I try to write stories that feature strong female characters, usually over the age of 25. I also keep my sexual content to a minimum, for those who prefer less erotic and more romantic.
