Dana fled her pack and their laws to live on her terms, but the price of defiance was her happiness.
Pack law states Lycan females must be shared by two or more males, but young and in love, Dana flees rather than be forced into a ménage. Her life on the run, constantly on guard, has no room for happiness. When her past catches up and brings her back to the home she fled, ...more

Defying Pack Law is book one in the Pack series by Eve Langlais. I have only read a couple of Eve’s books in the past but loved them. When I saw this series I couldn’t resist. It hits on several of my favorite genres and at the same time gives me a chance to explore more of her books. Wow, I loved it, loved it, loved it!

Dana and Nathan are in love. Just entering into adulthood they pledge themselves to each other. They are shape shifters, werewolves. In their pack, full blooded females are rare ...more

This is a hard book for me to rate. I read it initially because of a one star review that made me curious, and now that I’m finished I’m vacillating over my feelings about this story. There were parts of this story that I loved almost as much as the parts that I disliked. Unfortunately, the bad parts outweighed the good for me. Nevertheless, I could see a reader going either way with this book.

Omg! I am astonished! Defining Pack Law is a novel to howl about. When I started reading I couldn’t stop, I even got mad because I had to stop and fix dinner LOL. Eve Langlais adds a lot of emotions and depth to this wolf tale. I laughed, loved and even cried and that last one is hard for me;-) These three men are awesome. Why? For one Eve writes each male with their own personalities, so they are all are easy to fall for. I simply loved Dana she is sassy, witty, very loving and forgiving. The w

I was enjoying this book up to the point where Dana lost her freaking mind and started with the whole... He did something wrong, but it's okay because it was my fault. I wanted to throw my iPad across the room or at someone! She went from this strong woman to this person that just... well, I'm not sure what the hell happened. It just turned me off... So the answer is that Nathan runs away -- hello, you're pack alpha, IDIOT, you can't just run away! That was just... silly. And HOW did Dana outrun

Werewolves are my secret fetish, something about them that calls to me and therefore really wanted to like this book as it had not one but four werewolves, all hot and happening!! However, my bad that the story just did not click with me.
The book started off really well with Dana, the female MC of the story, running away from the Pack because she disliked being shared, which incidentally was Pack law. Loved her spirit in how she lives for 12 years alone and away from the Pack, becomes strong and ...more

My rating.....5 Stars!!!...to "Defying The Pack" Pack #1 by author Eve Langlais.....
Wow I am so glad I came across this series. It's sexy, sensual, dark and packed with suspense. The author blended all these elements perfectly. These shifters are seriously hot, hot, hot!
So pack law states that Lycan females must be shared by two or more males. Come on, how tragic! What normal female would want to be forced to share her body with two or more men instead of just one? Okay so I am not normal :) :) ...more

Who says running away will never make you free? Well, Kenny Loggins said that, but he didn't know what he was talking about, because things worked out just fine for Dana...
Dana fears the life that is her destiny. As Lycan female, she is rare and should be treasured but against Dana's desires, she must be shared among the males in her pack. She witnessed her mother's misery and is determined to avoid that life for herself. In an effort to dodge her destiny, Dana runs away from her pack and her fu ...more

I have had this setting on my shelf for quite a while. I've read this series way out of order starting with book four, then this one. I encountered the poly relationship in this book and was curious about how it all started with the first couple.
The premise of this series is based on the fact that werewolves breed 6:1 ration in favor of the guys so to keep from dying out, they made it a law that females had to be shared. It's alright if the right atmosphere of love and care and respect happens, ...more

There were times that I really liked this book and parts where I laughed at it, laughed with it,and parts whereI just had to shake my head at it's ridiculousness. The characters had potential but I didn't connect with them. The vampire aspect felt thrown in just for "shock factor" and did nothing but bring the book down in my eyes. Kody and John were sweet and fun but we were supposed to be in love with Nathan.I can't imagine how anyone would be in love with Nathan, even the heroine. I kept wait

This is a story about a female werewolf who ran from her first love when it became clear he'd share her with others, as per pack law. Twelve years later, he catches up with her. Dana is feisty, strong, and knows what she wants and doesn't want -- at least she thought so before meeting two of Nathan's friends and her wolf longs for them, too. Dana resists the attraction because she grew up with a father who shared her mother with everyone. Most pack relationships are closed -- they may be menage,

This journey into Lycan territory...and the PACK was enthralling.
Dana has been running for 12 years...running from being "just" a warm Lycan FEMALE body that has to give in to the males. She loved Nathan, a Lycan, when she was dormant (her inner wolf hadn't made her appearance). He promised her he'd never SHARE her. But then she became a wolf...and the only way her father and his would allow the match was if he'd SHARE.

Positives & Negatives
I hate to say this about an Eve Langlais book because I normally love her stories, but this one bored me to the point of almost DNF'ing.
There are some typos & errors interfered with the flow of the story. It was often repetitive with the thoughts of the MC's. The main characters & the story itself bordered on young adult/new adult. The only thing that kept it adult 'ish were the sex scenes and ...more

Defying Pack Law by Eve Langlais
Paranormal romance ménage erotica. Three hot male werewolves and one sexy female werewolf deciding more than one partner may be just what she needed to satisfy her growing desire.
Pack dynamics and laws of the polyamorous kind that absolutely need to be updated. Females need to have the right to say no....and make their own choices in lovers.
Book 1 of the Pack series.

If you like RH, fated mates, independent females, and shifters, this is a good pick. Other than a few weird euphemisms for various body parts, this was a good, very HOT read!

Fun Book! I loved it!

Defying Pack Law by Eve Langlais is wonderful escapade into the intriguing world of the paranormal werewolf shifter population. Dana, the heroine of this story, is a person the reader can connect with on an deep emotional level. She grew up in a very abusive household with a father who was overbearing and mistreated his own mate in atrocious ways.

I'm at 40% and so many things don't make sense. Dana's mom was horribly abused by her mates. The alpha of the time knew and didn't protect her. DEFYING PACK LAW is a Reverse Harem book that was written before RH became a subgenre. Back when it was originally published in 2011, ménage à trois/quatre and polyamory books were rather new to the scene just like e-publishers and the indie author boom. With that being said, Eve Langlais can easily be called one of the trail blazers of the genre and this book is a prime example of that.

Dang, this book is hard to rate. Normally I rate on the writing ability, how good the characters are, whether the story works, etc. And this story does as well as any erotica urban fantasy romance - better than most, because Eve Langlais is that good.
But instead of my normal, I am going to rate on this story's impact on society.
The good:
1. Solid characters - each of the three men in the relationship are different and all actions from each follow logically.

I have read a lot of shifter romances but from what I can think, not many of them have had more then one mate and a ménage. I really enjoyed this one. I was drawn in with the fact that it was a law to have more then one mate, but Dana really blew me away. She was strong and stubborn, but by the end of the book she was happier then she could have imagined.

Disappointing story which started off great and fell apart completely at the midway point. Nice characterization, backstory and setting. Unfortunately, after getting the two primary characters backed into a corner during conflict the story takes a bizarre and WTF turn. (view spoiler) I could probably overlook that, but the unsatisfactory and shallow resolution regarding both the two primaries and the group

I’ve never read. A bad book by eve but after this one I don’t think I want to read anymore. Holy crap. The ONLY reason I might continue her is cause this book was release in 2011. But holy shit.

“He shook his head at her. “Caught you,” he announced in a low timbre that still had the ability to make her tummy flip over, even in her current state. Her heart raced faster. Her past had finally caught up to her, and the shock of it, along with the rest of her injuries, thankfully made her black out.”
