Frank Miller is an American writer, artist and film director best known for his film noir-style comic book stories. He is one of the most widely-recognized and popular creators in comics, and is one of the most influential comics creators of his generation. His most notable works include Sin City, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman Year One and 300.

Me la suda que Frank Miller sea lo más machirulo misógino y maniqueo q existe..... sus historias son de los mejores thrillers q se pueden leer, su sentido para la caracterización de personajes fuera de serie y su dibujo.... en fin. Teamo Marv.

Estaba entre un 3 y un 4. Le daría un 5 si no fuera por la evidente misoginia que destila todo el tomo. Las historias entrelazan perfectamente, el dibujo es increíble, y las conversaciones no están del todo mal.

Que agradable fue leer un comic de Frank Miller de la época en que él era bueno, je je je. Bueno, o al menos medio comic, porque "A Hard Goodbye" y "That Yellow Bastard" siguen siendo fantásticas y una verdadera muestra de la ciudad como protagonista, mientras que "A Dame to Kill for" y "The Big Fat Killing" (cuyo vínculo yo no conocía hasta que los leí ahora) no son mas que historias mas típicas del noir, incluso predecibles, que como mucho, ayudan a comprender el equilibrio de poder de Basin City, pero que no apotan gran cosa (aun así, muero por ver a Eva Green como Ava).

Lo he vuelto a releer con la intención de solaparlo con la adaptación cinematográfica y me ha parecido de nuevo increíble... nada de grises... blanco y negro en el que en cada página se difumina el humo de un cigarro.

Frank Miller es un autor que me encanta y esta es su obra más potente. Lo que más me gusta de estos cómics es que cada viñeta es una obra de arte y desde unos pocos trazos hace dibujos muy complejos técnicamente y muy cinematográficos. Lo he disfrutado mucho mucho.

The fact that you're checking out this big-ticket item means you are no doubt familiar with Frank Miller's crime noir masterpiece, so I won't bother explaining what the basic stories are all about. You're probably here trying to decide whether this bookshelf item is worth the hefty price tag, or whether it is time to upgrade your Sin City collection. The answer is an overwhelming YES.

In this massive collection you get the first four Sin City graphic novels housed in a black slipcase with the Sin City logo in red foil. The volumes presented here are in hardcover format in a larger than normal size. Think of the DC Absolute hardcover series; these books are just slightly smaller than that format. As if the extra large presentation weren't enough, the page stock has been significantly upgraded. The pages are as thick as the typical Sin City cover stock, and ultra-glossy, which is ideally suited for Miller's dynamic black and white artwork. Each page becomes fine art. I was extremely pleased with my original Sin City hardcovers and paperbacks, but they just pale in comparison to the quality of this package. This really is the ultimate Sin City reading experience.

My only complaint, and it is minor, is that there isn't anything in the way of "bonus material." At the very least, I was hoping for some kind of introduction to each volume by Miller. But like I said, it's a minor gripe.

With its high price tag, the Sin City Library is not for everyone. It is however, a must-have for true Sin City aficionados, and makes an impressive addition to the comic fan's bookshelf.

This is Frank Miller's art at it's best. Beautiful work in black and white. His stories are all dark in this collection. It is also full of language, violence, and nudity - so it very much is for "mature audiences".

The oversized format is perfect for this work. The paperbacks do not do this justice. This heavy glossy paper really makes the oversized art stand out.

Receta para una obra maestra: use los temas de la novela negra elevados a la séptima potencia, dibújese en un blanco y negro impresionante con viñetas que son cuadros por derecho propio y agítese con violencia extrema. Se podrán decir muchas cosas de Frank Miller, pero Sin City es un clásico imperecedero. Especialmente la primera y la última de esta recopilación.
