I learned from this book that you can rewrite a few sentences of each of your last few journal publications and publish it as a new book...
Seriously, it's an excellent monograph bringing together a lot of Professor Gherardi's pioneering work in the field of 'knowing in practice'.
It combines a good outline of the intellectual background, with some excellent examples from her empricial work, particularly around safety practices on construction sites.
I think the book could probably gain from investigating the cross-over between identity and identity work theories which spring from a similar interest in practice, and from an engagement with the critics of practice-based knowing.
