I do believe that this one from Kitty Neale deserved five stars. Despite a few typo/grammar errors which proofreaders should have spotted, they didn't detract from my overall pleasure in reading this action-packed novel. I really liked the characters - Kitty made them all believable and their emotions showed great depths of character-thinking from her. I always think it is clever writing when authors draw you in to the plot, making compulsive reading and this is what she's done here. I did however, guess the little mystery at the end very early on, so that wasn't much of a surprise but overall I would highly recommend this novel.
A good story that takes place in England. Kevin just gets out of prison after 13 years of imprisonment. Kevin is a smart man, but not smart about some things. He wants to see his son, his former wife allows this as the son wants to meet his real father. There is romance in the story, murder too. I enjoyed reading, A Father's Revenge, by Kitty Neale. I shall be looking for more of her books.
Have read a few of Kitty Neale books, loved them all. Only started to read this about 10 days ago but once gotten in the reading mood I just couldn’t stop reading it to the end
A good read but I expected more from this author. Didn’t seem to have the grab you and not let go factor, sorry can’t think of the word I want senior moment I think.
Wandsworth Prison, 1970 If he torched the place, how long would it take for their bodies to burn? What a beginning! Thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book. 'A Bad Man can never come good'...
This was my first book ( now titled “ A Mothers Struggle”) from Kitty Neale. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was hard to put this down. I will definitely be reading more from this author!
Good conclusion to the previous story nobody's child. Although I could foresee what was going to happen near to the end but was an enjoyable read and would recommend.
When Kevin Dolby was sent to jail for committing a violent robbery, his wife Pearl hoped he was out of her and their son's life for good. But Kevin, a 'reformed' character, manages to get out on parole and he has one thing on his mind: revenge on those who crossed him. During his years behind bars, Pearl has remarried and found happiness but then she is forced, due to the terms of an inheritance, to return to her old stomping ground of Battersea and it seems that she and Kevin are set on a collision course. Kevin though has developed an obsession with Adrianna, a beautiful stripper who belongs to local gang boss Vince Chase. He is determined to have her and, as a consequence, he puts not just his own life but Pearl's in severe danger. "A Father's Revenge" was an enjoyable read with plenty of good and likeable characters, and some very nasty ones, who all drew me in and drove the story along but I felt there were perhaps too many competing plotlines and Kevin seemed to change motivation somewhat about halfway through. I thought more could have been made of his relationship with Pearl and then his ultimate fate was a bit anti-climactic. I did like it when one of the characters, who I thought had been pretty hard done by, made a return and all seemed set fair by the end.
A great follow up to the first book. Got to feel sorry for John though, he appears to have a lot to deal with for a young lad. Maybe far fetched in places but I couldn't put this book down and thankyou Amazon for charging me twice.
I really like it because I finally read another type of writing and changed my taste. kitty neale is a very goid author and ut made me laugh in some parts too byt she even made me cry.
