Use in classroom: Talk about the importance of respect and kindness and how we won't grow if we are being rude to each other just like how the bread won't rise because the villagers weren't kind enough to the homeless man.

Zafiro is a beggar that come to Beto's bakery every morning and Beto share his bread with him. When the people in the town banish Zafiro, Beto's dog stops rising. No one can understand this and the towns people love Beto's bread, the smell wakes them up every morning. The only one who could fix this is Zafiro.

This is a great story with rich heritage and culture. I think that the images are very colorful and vibrant. I would highly recommend this to any library and encourage students to read this when they are looking at other cultures from around the world.
