I think the author wants the reader to feel sympathy for all characters in this story for what they all went through with their lives, but I just couldn't feel so. I don't know why, I just couldn't be sympathetic to any of the main characters, or relate to any of the situations in this. Only character I felt sorry for was the husband Sharat and really warmed to him, being misled by Neha for all these years.
I didn't think the writing in this book was anything special and leafed through the page

I received this book as the first of a monthly subscription series. It's not something I would have picked for myself, but it was decent nonetheless. However, the characters seemed a little flat and their dialogue was often forced.

This month's Adult Fiction book from BooklyBox was A Scandalous Secret b Jaishree Misra. It's no surprise to me that I didn't really enjoy it based on the summary and the title I just didn't think this would be my cup of tea (haha English reference). The story was about a girl, Sonya, who lives in England with her adoptive parents and decides to take a trip to India to meet her birth mother, Neha, in order to find out why she had given her up 17 years ago.

This book was entertaining, but pretty predictable and somewhat simplistic. Some sidelines in the story seemed underdeveloped. For example, what happened to Kershav? [spoiler] He's the chauffeur turned lover then blackmailer and then he just drops out of the story after changing his mind (what?) about blackmailing. Seems a bit odd. The author spends many pages leading up to the high point of the story with much drama, and then the resolution is a bit of a letdown.

I received the book as the winne

this little treasure was purchased at a used book sale at a local library. This book is from India, has the Rupee symbol on the back, So who would have carried this book all the way from India and not read it? Fabulous book and the last part pick apart your heart. It is constant crying, sooooo sad. Great story felt very cathartic after reading it.

How could such things happen without ant warning at all? Events that shot peoples lives up into the air, seemingly at random, blowing them to smithere

It was ok but I didn't really care for the characters. I don't think their emotions were explained very well.
