As a long-time educator, I really did not get too much new from this book. I did think it was well-written and clear for those educators who are new in the field. I particulary liked the section in which it states the six concepts of transformatived education. What I did not like is the book's focus on the students' writing a book about themselves. It wouldn't work for the majority of high-school classes. It works for my ESL classes, but I really can't see a Physics teacher getting too much value from this activity. It was targeted towards the elementary school teacher.
