O kept asking about robot cookies. I thought the robot in this ate cookies. He did not.

But, it was wonderful rereading a book I loved as a kid. A solicitor came to our door one day and my mom purchased a set of books from them, and this was part of that. I am sure she feels that money was well spent, considering we still have it 30+ years later and after 6 moves where we packed up the whole house.

Anyway, the book is about a robot named Otto who started to malfunction and cause all sorts of trouble. Some of the sentence structure is off, but it is still enjoyable.

Joey adores this book. He's so into robots these days, and the fantastically fun illustrations in Otto are irresistible to him. But the rhythm of the rhyming text is off--painfully off. I would like to see someone re-write the book exclusively with words that convey robot noises. Now that would be fun to read.

I would give the text zero stars, except that Otto's expression "beep bup" earns one star from me. I give the illustrations four stars.
