Fun tale of a young woman and her sister, and a man and his family. Grandfather Abraham is up to all the same sorts of tricks when it comes time for Eli's marriage, but this time there's a catch: it's the second sister, Josie, who has loved Eli for years, while her older sister Clarice is in love with another man. Eli thinks he is heart-whole, but of course the purpose of this book is to pull that heart right out of him and give it to Josie!

I especially loved that the heroine is a young lady engineer. Nice twist, especially with how it played out with the story!

Last book of the Kennebrae Brides series. Was this ever a can of worms! Arranged marriages to people they don’t love…one of them in love with another…somebody else in love with their sister's intended, and meddling grandfather and parents forcing it all. Seemingly convoluted, but a fascinating read.

I appreciate Ms. Vetch's wisdom spoken through Josie‘s grandmother all the way through the book.

"But when you start trying to engineer circumstances and people, design and force God's plan to be revealed to you, or construct your future the way you want it to be, instead of the way God has for you, you run into trouble."

This was more of a novella than a whole book, but it had the feel of a whole book. I rather liked it, and I am not a fan of novellas. A terrific final story to the series.

This story carries the quiet awe of gifts unfolding exactly as God intended, and watching Josie lean into the abilities He entrusted to her stirred my own heart to remember His call in mine.

One of the most memorable moments came through Grandma Bess’s wisdom: “Do you know how often I’ve let something that should be my greatest strength become my greatest weakness? God gave you the ability to design, to calculate, to figure. And applied to shipbuilding or architecture or mathematics, it’s a fine gift. But when you start trying to engineer circumstances and people, design and force God's plan to be revealed to you, or construct your future the way you want it to be, instead of the way God has for you, you run into trouble.”

I felt those words take root in me. It’s a reminder for every one of us who longs to plot, plan, and design the path ahead of us instead of trusting our Divine Designer.

And then another whisper of wisdom I won’t forget: “God never sleeps, and quite often if I’m wide awake at night, He’s got something He wants to say to me, or there’s something He’s waiting to hear me say.” Those words are an invitation, drawing me to prayer in the very moments I might otherwise feel restless, alone, or complaining about losing sleep.

Josie’s promise to God may be the heartbeat of the entire book: She’d promised God she would be the woman He made her to be, that she would use her gifts for His glory. Woven through these pages are tender romance, inventive ambition, and the radiance of devotion — gifts and lives offered back to Him.

Erica Vetsch writes with freshness, warmth, and faith that flows naturally from her characters’ lives. The pacing is strong, the characters loveable, and the Christ-centered faith content is a strong foundation.

I loved this book for the way it honored what it means to live in personal relationship with Jesus, to offer Him our gifts as worship, and to remember that even the sleepless hours can become opportunities for prayer – listening to Him and talking to Him.

Perfect for readers who long for historical romance woven with faith, marked by tender wisdom, and anchored in the truth that our gifts and our lives belong wholly to Him.

I received a digital ARC of this book from the publisher and Celebrate Lit Publicity Group. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

This is one of the best bride stories I've read this year. The author has a way of using descriptions that transport the reader to 1900s Minnesota, making it come to life.

The characters reveal both their flaws and their strengths. Josephine is confused by her unique gift in mathematics and working with blueprints, as well as what God's plan for her life is. There is intrigue, danger, betrayal, but also a heart-warming romance. I loved her grandmother's humor, but also her faith in God, which she shares with Josephine. Eli, I liked from the beginning his drive to succeed and his ability to forgive.

I received a complimentary copy from the author; a positive review is not necessary. All opinions are my own.

This is the third book in the series, and I really enjoyed it. I love there is kind of a secret identity trope going on. Also arranged marriage trope. This is such a complicated love story and I love it. I loved all the characters. Great Christian themes throughout and I definitely recommend!

I enjoy historical dramas, especially ones with some suspense. I thought this novel might prove to be a typical girl in love with the man who has been promised to her sister who gets him in the end. Well, the author soon through in plenty of twists and detours, making for a lively story in the process. I enjoyed the journey along with shipbuilder Eli Kennebrae and engineer Josie Zahn, who must keep her skills hidden from the public. In the days of arranged marriages for the wealthy in order to further business or status, the two strong characters don’t have much say in that area of their lives. But the way they end up working together offers a powerful plot and intriguing dynamics. The story also includes some breath-stealing moments along with some sweet incidents. The enjoyable short tale is easily read in a day. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

The Engineered Engagement is the third book in the "Brides of the West" series, and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first two! It's another Gilded Age story set in Duluth, on the shores of the Great Lakes.
It was fun getting acquainted with Eli and Josie. I have admitted many times (if you will remember from my homeschooling days) that math is definitely not my "thing." So I admire Josie in her mathematical mind.
Once again, I am impressed with Erica Vetch's research and storytelling talent. It was fun getting a glimpse of shipbuilding engineering and building. Watching Josie's and Eli's attraction for each other grow, in spite of seemingly hopeless circumstances, was fun.
If you enjoy Christian historical fiction with a dose of romance I recommend this for your TBR list.
I received a complimentary copy. These opinions are my own.

Stories of pioneering women who dared to think outside the box and demonstrate skill in traditionally men’s professions have always intrigued me. To be Josephine Zahn in the early 20th century and exhibit strong skills and inclination toward math and engineering was a daunting endeavor, for sure. Her secret romantic interest in the man who sought such help for his ship renovation, Eli Kennebrae, complicated not only matters of the heart but in business also. While there was a bit of technical description related to the redesign and rebuilding of Eli’s ship, the romantic and business complications of several individuals kept me reading to see how things would be resolved in the end. Grandma Bess was a delightful addition to the story. This is the third book in a series about the Kennebrae brothers and while the first two brothers were mentioned and I would love to read their stories also, I found no problem in jumping right in and reading this book as a stand alone.

I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher. A positive review was not required and these are my own and honest opinions.

Going against the tide

Eli is out to prove he can build the best ships for Kennebrae Shipping, but his grandfather has arranged a marriage for him that he doesn’t want. Josie has loved him for a long time, but must give him up for he is engaged to another…until he isn’t. Much intrigue and secrets come between Eli and Josie, but in the end, they discover their love is greater than all else.

I liked the story. Eli doesn’t have many ideas about girls, but Josie holds his affection. His grandfather got on my nerves a little, but things worked out in the end.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.

This was a quick and delightful read. The only complaint I had was that I wanted to see the couple interact more before the "L" word was used. Other than that, I loved every minute I spent with this one.

The Engineered Engagement is the enjoyable third book in the Brides of the West series! Eli Kennebrae‘s the next Kennebrae grandson be forced into an arranged engagement with a unique twist.

Eli wants to make a name for himself designing a new ship that’ll transport more cargo across the Great Lakes in record time. Unfortunately, his grandfather’s up to his old matchmaking tricks & threatens to cut off his funding for his ship building project if he doesn’t agree to the marriage he’s arranged.

Josie Zahn’s got a secret. She’s a brilliant mathematician who’d love nothing more than to further her education. Unfortunately her parents’ idea of her future involves being a wonderful hostess instead. She’s been in love with Eli since she was 15 & even though they have a great connection, he seems to think of her as another, easily interchangeable Zahn sister. But, when Eli’s in need of a mathematician to help him with a design problem, Josie comes to the rescue posing as the reclusive Professor Josephson. With high stakes & a conniving competitor, what happens when Eli learns the truth?

I loved Josie & Eli! This story had so many twists & turns with themes of hidden identity, an engagement gone wrong, looking beneath the surface, & learning to share your talents. Josie’s so intelligent but afraid to be herself, especially at a time when women were discouraged from pursuing education. Both she & Eli are brilliant & easily complement each other. I was definitely cheering for them to succeed.

There’s a devious villain in the story, & I was surprised at the lengths he goes to. He definitely puts a wrench into Eli’s plans. I loved Josie’s grandmother who encourages her not to hide her talents, & the symbolism of the opal ring.

Highly recommend this inspiring, romantic story! Though easily read as a standalone, it’s more enjoyable if you’ve read the previous books. I received an advanced copy but also purchased the ebook in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own & provided voluntarily.

Subterfuge opens the pages of Erica Vetsch’s novel, The Engineered Engagement. A unique twist on the arranged marriage trope, Vetsch weaves in threads of unrequited love, the bittersweet angst of familial obligation, and a complicated matter between sisters. With the plot unwinding in each chapter, the complexities deepen, tightening the knot in the reader's gut and adding a thrilling measure of intrigue.

Her main characters, with their distinct personalities and quirks, and even the supporting cast, each add a unique flavor that elevates the story. The frustration of unanswered questions battles with curiosity as the intricate plot unfolds in early twentieth-century Duluth. The importance of the ship industry and whispers of espionage are a cut-throat backdrop to the romantic nature of the story. The mystery of Josie's secret collaboration, coupled with the palpable chemistry of her years-long crush on Eli, creates an irresistible appeal, making her an extremely likable main character. Eli's aloofness, on the other hand, marked by disinterest in matrimony and romance, makes him frustrating but likable.

The story unfolds at a captivating pace, each chapter revealing more and maintaining the reader's interest. Vetsch masterfully paints a picture of 20th-century high society, seamlessly weaving in rich details of clothing, architecture, and social customs without overwhelming the reader. As the plot twists and turns with surprising developments, the romance unfolds with captivating unpredictability. Every turned page was full of tension and delightful surprises. The suspense, a delicious agony, kept me sailing through chapters long past bedtime, wondering how it would all conclude. This book will be a wonderful delight for fans of Regency Romance.

I received a complimentary copy from the author but was not required to leave a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Award-winning author Erica Vetsch presents a new novel filled with realistic characters, faith journeys, and historical details.

In The Engineered Engagement, shipbuilder Eli Kennebrae finds himself caught up in an arranged engagement while he tries to build a new cargo ship. Unbeknownst to him, the engineer (Professor Josephson) helping to analyze his designs is really Josie Zahn, a young lady who is passionate and talented in engineering and mathematics, and has had a crush on him for years. Will Josie’s deception work in her favor or against her? After all, it helps Eli realize his dream of designing a new ship.

Vetsch, who excels in her well-written, historically accurate Regency fiction, carries those skills over to a new historical genre: Western fiction set in Minnesota around the turn of the 20th century, featuring a non-traditional female - a mathematics whiz! The series includes historical detail, faith elements, women who want more than what 20th century society prescribes, and each couple faces secrets that could threaten a happily-ever-after ending.

Originally published in the The Kennebrae Brides series, The Engineered Engagement follows the story of Eli, the last Kennebrae bachelor. His grandfather manipulates his grandsons to get married or lose their inheritance. The reader does not need to read the earlier books about Eli’s brothers (told in The Bartered Bride, and The Marriage Masquerade), as there is enough backstory in this secret identity/arranged marriage novel. However, the reader is encouraged to read the other books, simply for the enjoyment of the family dynamics and how things didn’t unfold the way the grandfather planned.

Recommended for public libraries and high school readers. Fans of Jody Hedlund and inspirational historical fiction will especially enjoy this series.

Christian Historical Romance is a favorite genre that I enjoy. The Engineered Engagement by Erica Vetsch is Book 3 in The Kennabrae Brides series. I have read this series from the beginning and always look forward to new releases.

WOW, this storyline is just as interesting as the first book. The setting is 1906 in Duluth, Minnesota. The 2 main characters are Eli Kennebrae and Josie Zahn. Eli is working hard to make his dream career come true. He wants to take the Cargo Transportation business in the Great Lakes area to new levels, which would be amazing in the times of 1906. Grandpa is at it again with arranging Marriages for his 3rd Grandson. Josie Zahn is the one that Grandpa has chosen for Eli. Josie has her interests that she has been keeping secret, she loves Math and Engineering, something women in the early 1900's were not commonly known to do. Eli isn't interested in Marriage right now, as he is looking for an engineer for his business. Josie is actually interested in Eli and has interest in him for sometime. I really LOVE that Josie goes "undercover" and creates the Engineering plans for Eli's business. Eli is quite shocked when he discovers that the plans were made by a woman and that Josie was behind the plans. The joy in my heart when Eli has a change of heart for Josie and sees that Women are capable of achieving great things also. The storyline really goes against the standards of the early 1900's,as women were not expected to have jobs and excel in life. Josie and Eli truly have a wonderful friendship and relationship and it is because of Josie's knowledge and help to Eli! The book is about Going outside the norm. Trusting yourself and others, and LOVE I would HIGHLY recommend this book. AMAZING BOOK!

This is the third book in the “Brides of the West” series from Erica Vetsch. All the books in this series stand alone. You will miss getting reacquainted with characters from the other books if you haven’t read the other two.

The books center around the Kennebrae brothers. Which is unique as most novels are centered around sisters or a group of ladies. Each brother is unique and a man of character. A bit stubborn at times.

Josephine (Josie) Zahn is a genius in math and engineering. Her tutor taught her skills that women of her era wouldn’t do. He found that she was gifted. She desires to seek higher education in both fields. Her father refuses, as women don’t do that, but are expected to get married, raise a family, and keep the house in order.

Eli Kennebra is arranged to get married to Josie. He is a shipbuilder. Both families are wealthy, and their marriage is for business and status. Josie has had affections for Eli since she was a young girl. Eli doesn’t know that. Eli is more interested in building ships and not the entanglement of a woman.

I loved Josie & Eli. This has been my favorite book in this series. The plot had so many twists & turns, hidden identity, faith, and an engagement. I enjoyed the surprises, even though you knew in the end the main characters would fall in love.

I enjoyed the historical aspects of the era in the stories. For a short novel, the author does a fantastic job bringing the story together. I just wish we had more Kennebra brothers!

I highly recommend this lovely, heartfelt, inspirational romance.

This story was very interesting from the beginning. It is part of a series that follows an arranged marriage that is not met with happiness. I really liked Eli and how devoted he is to his family’s shipping business. He has been working hard on a way to improve loading and unloading of cargo. All he needs is someone who is an engineer to help him. I wonder who will fit that bill?

Josie is very smart and has a dream that she knows her father will never allow her to fulfill. In this time period women were to marry, raise children and be supportive of their husband. Josie only wants to be an engineer. Her ability as a mathematician is very impressive but she doesn’t have much hope that she will be able to pursue her dream.

The story is filled with misunderstandings as once again one of the Kennebrae grandsons is picked to marry someone their grandfather has chosen. I did really enjoy a look at shipping vessels and how they operate. Eli definitely knows his way around the business but will he fall for a trap that is being set by someone who is greedy? The author does a great job of giving the story a bit of humor when the mysterious Professor Josephson helps Eli.

One thing that really stood out to me was the importance of trusting and never giving up on your dream. What will happen when deception tries to place doubt on someone? Will Eli and Josie find a way to trust each other? Find the answers to all these questions when you read this book.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Erica Vetsch writes books that draw you in from the start, and this story was no exception. The mix of historical detail, heartfelt romance, and characters with real struggles made it a book I didn’t want to put down.

Eli Kennebrae is a man with big dreams to change the way ships carry cargo across the Great Lakes. His plans are bold, but he’s also tied down by an arranged engagement he never asked for. On the other side is Josie Zahn, a young woman with a brilliant mind for math and engineering. Society may expect her to marry and fade into the background, but she longs for something more—a chance to prove her skills and contribute in ways no one believes she can.

I loved how Josie’s secret identity as “Professor Josephson” added tension and excitement. Watching Eli connect with her ideas while not realizing they were hers gave the story both humor and heart. Josie’s determination and intelligence made her a standout character, and the way her hidden work pushed Eli’s dreams forward kept me completely engaged.

The Great Lakes setting added a unique backdrop that felt vivid and different from other historical romances I’ve read. Family expectations, ambition, deception, and the hope of love all come together to create a story that is both warm and thought-provoking.

This is the kind of book that lingers after the last page, with characters and themes that stay in your mind long after you finish reading.

The Engineered Engagement by Erica Vetsch is a Christian Historical Romance. It is the third book in the Brides of the West series. Eli Kennebrae’s desires to revolutionize cargo shipping. But his grandfather’s meddling finds him caught up in plans for an arranged marriage.

Josie has admired Eli for years, but to him, she’s just “one of the Zahn girls.” Moreover, society expects her to marry rather than pursuing her passion for mathematics and engineering. If she could just get Eli’s attention, she could help him achieve his goals.

Josie takes on the persona of a male professor who helps Eli achieve his desires to revolutionize cargo shipping without him knowing who she actually is. Add in a devious and scheming competitor who eventually learns of Josie’s fake persona and the story takes on a life of its own.

The characters and storylines in this book and the entire series will keep you reading. Each book includes the Kennebrae family from the previous books. The scheming grandfather is one of my favorite characters. I loved this series, and am glad to see how each of the brothers added to the dimensions of the next book in the series.

So if you enjoy Christian Historical Romances, check out The Engineered Engagement by Erica Vetsch and the other books in the Brides of the West series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this conclusion to the series. It wasn't my favorite of the books, but I still liked how the series wrapped up! What do you do when your grandfather announces that your secret crush is going to marry...your sister??!! And, your sister doesn't want to marry him but has a crush on someone else! So begins the final story in the Kennebrae brides. Eli only wants to revolutionize cargo transportation on the Great Lakes, but his grandfather continues to meddle like he did with his brothers by picking out a bride for him. Well, it happened to work out for his brothers, but he has no time for it in his own life!
Josie has always been great at math and engineering but that's not "fashionable" for girls. She's also just "one of the Zahn girls" and she longs to break out and be her own person. She's had a crush on Eli for years but fears he won't ever notice her. When circumstances allow her to help him incognito, maybe things will finally work out!
The grandfather was a hoot to me! He tried so hard to manage his grandsons' lives and sometimes you just have to let men do their own thing but maybe by forcing things, you just might get things right after all! The women in this series were independent and smart! However, they sometimes jumped to conclusions and didn't stop to get all the facts! They were sweet girls though! A fun series that I enjoyed overall.

Josie Zahn, who does not want to be called Josephine, is struggling with being looked at as being “just one of the four Zahn sisters”. She has a brilliant mind and she is especially gifted in mathematics. Her desire is to go to college, but her parents have an arranged marriage planned for her with Eli Kennebrae. Eli doesn’t want an arranged marriage, either, but he agrees to honor his grandfather’s wishes for him to marry one of the Zahn sisters. Even though they are drawn to each other, they both each want to achieve their own goals. But as their story unfolds, they find that God has some surprising plans for their lives. I immediately liked Josie and Eli. I had sympathy for both of them as they attempted to honor their families, yet still find their own paths. I’m also enjoyed Josie’s little sisters. They made a couple of appearances in the book that had me smiling at their antics. Josie’s desire to be “seen” and for her unique talents to be recognized and appreciated was a major theme of the book. It was a good reminder that God gives each of us gifts that He wants us to use as we follow Him. This is the third book in the “Brides of the West” series, but you can easily read any of these books as stand-alone stories. I’ve enjoyed reading each of the books in this series. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

The Zahn sisters had me hooked from the first chapter of this novella. This is Eli’s story with his Grandfather Kennebrae arranging a marriage for him. Eli was more focused on designing ships not being married. Josie mathematics abilities were not appreciated by her father and further education for women was frowned upon. Clarice was not happy about the arranged marriage when her heart belonged to another. As the story unfold there is conniving between Clarice, Josie and Geoffrey that gave way to ups and downs that only caused more heartache for others. Vetsch added in a greedy business man that created more havoc for the Zahn and Kennebrae families. I admired Grandma Bess Zahn with her faith and wise sayings to her granddaughters and others. Time will only tell whether Eli will be able to remain in the Kennebrae family business with the success of the Bethany ship that had been destroyed in book one. This was my favorite read for the Kennebrae Brides.

I received an early complimentary copy of this from Wild Heart Books for the Celebrate Lit Bloggers tour. I have expressed my own thoughts.

Eli Kennebrae is the last of the brothers to be married off in his grandfather's matchmaking scheme. But what happens when the bride picked is already in love with someone else? Will her sister be a suitable substitute?

This story features second sister Josie who is very smart, she was trained by an engineer tutor. However, she lives in a society that frowns on her zest and zeal for the field. To truly use her talent, she has to pretend to be someone else. Josie is also already in love with Eli. Though she feels very inadequate as it seems as though he only sees her as the substitute. I felt for Josie as she is dealing with insecurities at not being enough for anyone.

I have enjoyed this whole series, and I am glad that the brothers listened to their grandfather. I think Eli and Josie's story was my favorite, Josie was such a smart capable woman who often was overlooked. She and Eli made the perfect match after some trials.

I was provided a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.

In this book we see if the third Kennebrae brother can outwit the machinations of their grandfather who loves to arrange marriages for his grandsons.
With a very smart heroine who would rather go to college than get married and a hero who is trying to prove his worth, this story captured the flavor of the period.
It is one of the first books Ms. Vestch wrote and it has stood the test of time in this re-release.
I enjoy this story very much and loved to see the way the story progressed.
A favorite character was Grandma Bess who always pointed Josie to what God would be pleased with.
"But when you start trying to engineer circumstances and people, design and force God's plan to be revealed to you, or construct your future the way you want it to be, instead of the way God has for you, you run into trouble."
A delightful look into the past.

Sweet romance, great sister moments, an intriguing plot -- what's not to like about Erica Vetsch's The Engineered Engagement?

Josie was a great character. Her feeling that she was invisible because she had three sisters were quite relatable (I have several sisters myself). It was so amazing how she tried to support her sisters and had such a kind heart for everyone she interacted with. She also had such grace in dealing with others.

Eli was also a fun character. I enjoyed seeing the little sparks of interest he held for Josie throughout the book. His character development was believable and made me root for him.

The conflict in the story was intriguing and I thought it was brilliant how Erica tied things together at the end of the book!

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance story! If you enjoy historical fiction novels about love and sisters, you will love this book!

What a great and satisfying end to the Brides of the West series. It is now Eli Kennebrae turn to be matched up by his grandfather and he is not interested in marrying but just wants to build ships. This story has a few twists that keep your interest from beginning to end. Step back to 1906 and imagine loving math and wanting to follow your dream that God has given you but society won’t look kindly on that. Therein secrets and lies snowball and therefore repentance and forgiveness are necessary. I found I couldn’t turn pages quick enough as the storytelling is great and I enjoyed the characters and the empathy I felt for each person’s struggles. I have enjoyed this series immensely as they each have unique situations although they carry the same theme of arranged marriages by a grandfather. I recommend this quick read that will capture your attention.I received a complimentary copy from CelebrateLit/Wild Heart Books. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

I have enjoyed the first two books from Erica Vetsch's Brides of the West series. I was looking forward to reading the third installment, The Engineered Engagement. I found that the tale between Josie and Eli to be entertaining and fun to read. It was easy for me to keep turning the pages to see what would happen to them in the end. There was a lot of adventure, action, and romance. I thought it was great.

I am going to give The Engineered Engagement a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are lovers of clean historical romance. I look forward to the next installment of the Brides of the West series, Clara and the Cowboy.

I received a copy of Erica Vetsch's The Engineered Engagement from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

1906 was a time when women were still expected to marry, have children and run a home. Arranged marriages were still happening and higher education for a woman, regardless of how brilliant, was quite unheard of. For Josephine Zahn, a mathematician, this was very difficult. Her expertise was to be kept hidden.

Eli Kennabrae, the last of the Kennabrae grandsons, was now the target for grandfather’s marriage arrangements and this one was to a Zahn daughter of which there were 4. Only problem, all he wanted to do was design the fastest ships. How could marriage possibly help him with that? A copy of THe Kennabrae Brides Book 3 was received through Wild Heart Books and BookFunnel. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

"The Engineered Engagement" by Erica Vetsch is the third book in the series. This is Eli's turn to get married according to Grandfather and like the other two brothers he's not liking the plan at all. And I'm not sure that I like Grandpa but I guess in the timeline of this story prearranged marriages are made by parents and in this case grandparents, This is a sweet romance with betrayal brought on by greed, And yes I suppose you could enjoy this story as a standalone but I recommend reading them in order and I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series. The title really fits this story. This is also a story of being true to oneself.
I received a complementally copy from the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

Oh gosh what a good book, especially following the previous book in the series. Exciting and satisfying right to the end. Josie is an engineer, which women couldn't be at that time. Eli's grandfather forced an engagement for him and a Zahn girl. He was determined to be an innovative ship designer. An excellent telling of intertwined love, faith, talents and interference in a competitive business, high society families and subterfuge.

I received this book free from the author, publisher and CelebrateLit book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

The Engineered Engagement (Brides of the West Book 3) is another arranged marriage by Erica Vetsch. Eli Kennebrae is now being pushed into marriage by his meddling grandfather. Society sees Josie Zahn as marriage material but not an accomplished engineered. Why should she have to settle to be just one?

Almost the wrong sister but Josie has loved Eli for years. I can appreciate her talent, intelligence and her determination. An engaging read as the sisters work to catch the right man and still pursue their passions. As the saying goes, “A woman has to do what a woman has to do.” My favorite of the three books in the series.
