This is one of the most poignantly executed memoirs of a Roosevelt that exists. The personal tone makes it a delightful read, but it so full of complex situations and conversations that it is a good exercise of the reader's brain. Levy puts to paper a lifetime of Mrs. Roosevelt's experiences from a truly personal and friendly point of view. This book may teach you more about the First Lady of the World than her own autobiography! It is a must-read for any Roosevelt fan or historical buff out there.

Although I learned some new details about the fascinating Eleanor Roosevelt, it's more about the who's who, the details of the events (choice of China, the famous people invented, the linens, furniture, drinks, food, etc.). It reads like a society column vs. insight and depth into family relationships, dynamics, etc.
