Andrew Norman Wilson is an English writer and newspaper columnist, known for his critical biographies, novels, works of popular history and religious views. He is an occasional columnist for the Daily Mail and former columnist for the London Evening Standard, and has been an occasional contributor to the Times Literary Supplement, New Statesman, The Spectator and The Observer.
What an odd perspective. The editor is clearly patriotic and a bit racist so it becomes fascinating to see what poems he thinks support his beliefs. So, in turn, reading some of the poems from that angle creates a very different poem than when one reads it in English class. Still, this great little collection of good poems.
