Geniale e palesemente scorretto, appassionato e scaltro, visionario e mentitore, pragmatico puro amante del sapere: l'uomo Heinrich Schliemann raccontato in maniera piacevole e didascalica.

This is not so much a book about Troy, though that is covered briefly, as it about the search for and the eventual discovery of Troy by Heinrich Schliemann and others. It tells the story reasonably well, is more engaging than most books in the Discoveries series, and the readings in back are quite good.
As is usual with this series, the book is well illustrated, averaging more than one per page, but the trim size is so small, and the illustrations accordingly tiny, that some are too hard to scan to be truly informative. Still, if you know little about this subject and want a place to begin, this book serves very well.

Not a literary classic, more of a picture book, but an interesting biography nonetheless.

nice overview in brief with a pleasing layout, but strange treatment of Schliemann tone-wise. "our hero"? a little odd I feel.
