I recently found this book in my mother's basement. I have had it since I was a little kid and kept it all these years. Beautiful illustrations and bedtime stories that are not normally seen in a childrens book.

This book is filled with stories that have been told for centuries. This book includes: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Frog Prince, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Hansel and Gretel, and several more. These stories have all been heard over and over again. These stories include many different characters with different personalities and interests.
This book would be very entertaining for students to hear. The students will probably have heard a version of the story before. The class can have a discussion about the different character's personality traits. They can talk about the plot and setting of the stories. They can talk about what they believe the main character learned during the story.

Simple versions of common tales and less common tales (at least for me). I like how each story was just a single page. I like how there were kind of upsetting tales in here -- not bowdlerized -- while still not specifically adding the more sexist/awful aspect of fairy tales. I like this collection.

(My used copy has written in it: To Kalena, Happy "Third" Birthday Love, "Ko" & Tom.)
