K-On originally ended on volume 4 with the original members of "Afternoon Tea Time" (the name of the band comprised by their school's pop music club) graduating. To me, this was a bitter-sweet moment.

I tend to be a somewhat weepy person, at the same time that crying annoys me. I know, it's contradictory. It's like one part of my brain wants one thing and the other is yelling at it that it wants something else. Wierd, huh?

Anyways, this was a happy, but sad volume. The graduation of the girls and seeing them move on in life. They are about to head to college. I admit that there was some jealousy there. Though fictional, the characters reflect the hopes and dreams we all have. Hopes and and dreams that as you get older you realize might never occur. Hopes and dreams you sometimes missed out on yourself. That is my case.

So for me, the weepiness was compounded by this jealousy. Neverthless, it was a fun series and I enjoyed the quirks of the characters. Perhaps it was just how much I cared about these characters that makes things so very difficult both in terms of envy and of my heart breaking. I don't want the story to end.

The consolation I have is something that does strike a real-life chord with me. The series goes on. Kakifly (the mangaka's pseudonym) has written two more volumes, one dedicated to Azusa, Ui, and their friend keeping the pop music club alive, and one dedicated to the graduating girls at their prestigious women's college. The is something I can hold onto, that life goes on in reality just as it does in fiction, and there is always joy still to be had in life.

I know this review was more about me than the book, but I hope that is okay. Blessings. You will enjoy this sweet ending to the original membership of "Afternoon Tea Time".

Really love the anime, I didn’t like the manga nearly as much probably because this manga style annoys me(“4-Koma” I think it’s called)😁👌🎸❤️

K-On! is a four-panel manga about four girls (later five) who are members of their school's pop music club. It's cute and very slashy, but for all that it's a four-panel manga, it's not actually that funny. A lot of the strips don't really end on a joke. So that was rather disappointing. I kept comparing it to Azumanga Daioh and there is really no comparison. But it's cute and fun, though I was glad it was only four volumes, because it got old by the end. I had downloaded the anime to watch, too, but I ended up deleting it without watching because I didn't feel like I needed to experience K-On! a second time through. :p

A cute place to end the main bulk of the series, K-ON! Volume 4 continues to do what the series is good at. Not sure what the last two volumes will add, but I’m hopeful.

Esse volume é o mais emocionante da série. O clima de formatura e vestibulares e de mudança de fase de vida no final sempre me pega.

If you're looking for a light-hearted read after a long, hard day, you really can't look further than K-On!

To put it simply, it's a bit of a 'fluff' tale about a group of girls who make up the pop music club at school, and their misadventures together. The eclectic bunch, made up of Yui Hirasawa on guitar, Mio Akiyama on bass, Ritsu Tainaka on drums and Tsumugi Kotobuki on keyboard, the girls are seemingly more interested in drinking tea and eating cake, than they are rehearsing, or doing anything remotely music related. Though, when push comes to shove, their love for one another and the fun they have always pulls them over the finish line.

Lacking much of a storyline, and with almost no plot whatsoever, K-on! is definitely not going to be the sort of manga that keeps you on the edge of your seat; but it's such a refreshing break from the typical manga-drama, that you can't help but adore it and all of it's characters. Definitely a must for any music lover, with scattered pieces of technical advice throughout, it's nice to be able to relate with what the girls go through as they master their instruments. On a personal note, even my boyfriend, an avid drummer, really enjoyed this, because of the accuracy and precision with which the music is slipped in.

There are moments when you feel like you're reading the same thing you did in the last chapter, and wonder if anything different is going to happen, but with moments that genuinely make you chuckle, and causes you to smile the whole way through it, there's no way that you couldn't like K-On

And so I have reached the end of the K-On! series. It was an alright series. Nothing entirely special about it but I didn't mind reading it. The characters were cute and fun. In this volume, the four first time members of the Pop Music Club are in their senior year and enjoying their time together and studying like crazy. What I thought was kind of nice was the volume seemed to also be transitioning with the seniors. There were more scenes with the younger girls (Azusa, Ui, and Jun) as the seniors were sort of out of the picture studying or whatnot. I found that quite interesting and a wonderful transition technique for both the reader and the characters (whether or not this was intentional by the manga-ka is unknown to me... if it wasn't, well then he befell upon a great unknown idea! If it was intentional, I say good work Kakifly! I loved it!)

What I like most about K-On!? Well, it's short! Haha! I love short series a lot. From what I understand, there are a few other K-On! series out (K-On! High School and K-On! College) and I believe Yen Press will be releasing them in the US... but I'm not really sure if I'll check them out. Some part of me would like to, but another part is kind of done with this series and doesn't mind moving on. I guess time will tell what I decide. But for now, I am happy with these four volumes.

If you love reading cutesy mangas about friendship and shenanigans, this series is for you! And I hope you enjoy!

Graduation! The one thing nobody wanted to happen has happened. The girls are nearing the end of their school days and leaving the Light Music Club behind!

TRAGIC! It's sad for sure, but really funny. Very enjoyable.

A good ending to a fun series. I've really enjoyed the characters and it's sad that it is ending. I know that there is a bit of side stories, but I am happy that this series didn't go on forever. Fun times that could have gotten pretty old with too many volumes.

Cute end to a cute series. I liked that it wrapped up the main KON! story line, while leaving it open for the girls to go off to college and have more adventures, as well as the opportunity to follow the younger high school girls as they recreate the pop music club after the seniors leave.

The final volume ends very nicely. There is still a bunch of silly high jinks but the band grows a lot in preparation for college. This one has a lot of emotion.

I feel like I might be short-changing this series at 4 stars.... What can I say; internal ratings consistency across all of my reading is hard.
