A Christianity Today 1999 Book of the Year The early church valued the Gospel of Mark for its preservation of the apostolic voice and gospel narrative of Peter. Yet the early church fathers very rarely produced sustained commentary on Mark. Christopher A. Hall (PhD, Drew University) is chancellor of Eastern University and dean of Palmer Theological Seminary in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, and has authored a number of books. He is an editor at large for Christianity Today and associate editor of the Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture series.

This could be one of my favorite ACCS volumes. I read it fairly quickly as it was hard to put down. I kept saying, " one more chapter".

It took me almost a year, but well worth the time. These writings are best taken in small doses in order to fully assimilate the weighty truths they communicate. I own the entire ACC Series and now my challenge is to select the next title...I'm leaning toward Romans, but may perhaps delve into an Old Testament commentary as well.
