It's the artwork in this that really stands out. Some of the images are downright breathtaking. But the mythology text is pretty much standard. Still, wow that art!

This book reminds me of YAL. There are so many handbooks, chapbooks of mythology available in the 1970’s and 1980s. This book rests comfortably in that category. The author is enthusiastic about the descriptions of many things. There is no didactic teaching in this volume. Lots of pictures and various origin stories. Though Egyptian practices are being studied and practiced by a whole new range of devotees these types of books are quite fun to read and use occasionally as reference points. I would say I’m not convinced of the ideas of Tarot originating in that ancient country though they were sophisticated the Tarot seems totally to mirror the Church, judgments and resurrection.
