There’s nothing like curling up with a great romance during the holidays, and when those romances come from an anthology, I’m even more excited because the stories are short, varied and almost always have that magical happily ever after. And another plus is that they often give me a chance to get to know authors whose work I might not have never tried, otherwise. However, one of the problems inherent with anthologies is that the authors have to perform a balancing act when contributing to them,

Since this anthology is only four stories, I’ll give my thoughts for each.

Enchanted Blood by Laurie London – This one is about a vampire and his human love finding each other again even after her memory was wiped, and this time getting their HEA. There wasn’t anything I can point out as being wrong with this one, I just wasn’t really into it. I think it involved characters from a series, so maybe anyone who's read the series would like it more.

I really enjoy Laurie London's Sweetblood series, but to be honest, this one definitely wasn't one of my favorites. The storyline was good, but there's one thing that really REALLY bugged me. Charlotte's friend bailed on her at a club, so she heads back to her car alone. Right before she is about to get accosted, someone swoops in and beats the thugs down. Awesome, except that her hero is her ex-lover. Oh, and

Enchanted by Blood by Laurie London (SweetBlood #2.5) – 3 stars
Charlotte is ditched by her best friend at a dance club and decides to head home when she realizes she is being followed by two strange men. Fear propels her forward to the safety of her car, but a man appears and does the ass-kicking for her. Since Charlotte has injured her hand during her scuffle to get to safety, this man offers to feed her and drive her home.

I have been enjoying reading Christmas themed anthologies over the last few days so A Vampire for Christmas was just the kind of thing I was looking for. Anthologies can be a great way of trying new authors and I have definitely added a couple of authors to my to read pile thanks to this one. Although there were a couple of stories that I didn't enjoy as much as the others I'd say this anthology was well worth buying just for Alexis Morgan and Laurie London's contributions.

I like vampires, I like romance, and I like Christmas, so when I saw this book on Overdrive I thought to myself, I have to read that. It's actually 4 short stories which was even better but I only read the first one all the way through. The first is decent for a silly vampire Christmas romance, the others were boring or too serious for me to bother finishing. I neither recommend or do not recommend this book. ...more

“Enchanted By Blood” by Laurie London (Sweetblood #2.5)

After being a little disappointed with the last Sweetblood novella story I read, I was really hoping for a novella that captured the same super sexy and dangerous feel of the full length novels. And that’s what I got. The story here manages to incorporate the depth of a long term relationship while still letting readers experience the thrill of a new couple meeting for the first time. Even though v

Enchanted by Blood by Laurie London - A Sweet Bloods connected short - Trace's destiny didn't allow for the love of a human, so he erased Charlotte's memory of their love together, but fate has other ideas... This was the short story that prompted me to search out the Sweetblood series. Still 3 stars.

3 stars average. This is another example of a book that read better than in audio. The problem could be the unevenness of the narrators' styles, or it could be just that I'm getting a bit tired of vampire stories.

A Vampire for Christmas is a classic collection of love stories set in the world’s happiest holiday of all. What could be better than to read about four vampires looking for love at a time when love is overflowing in the human heart? Each story teaches us something different about the human/vampire connection.

Enchanted by Blood by Laurie London is set in a time when vampires were still struggling with identity and attempting to set up rules to help t

The anthology curse strikes again!

It's no secret that most readers don't love anthologies. The short story format is easy to mess up and never quite manages to satisfy even series fans. For me personally I come to most anthologies with one of two purposes. Enjoying a short that ties into a series I already like or getting a feel for the writing style of an author I'm interested in and haven't tried before. A VAMPIRE FOR CHRISTMAS served a third purpose, I wanted something to get me into the holi

A Vampire for Christmas is warming up the holidays with four lonely vampires looking for some Christmas romance, and the everlasting gift of love. Laurie London brings a little Christmas cheer with her Sweetblood’s series. Charlotte and Trace’s romance came to an end last Christmas when Trace new he would be taking his place on the Council seat. But Charlotte and Trace's paths cross again this Christmas, and Trace finds it a little harder to resist Charlotte's love the second time. I loved and e ...more

If you are looking for a traditional, carol-singing, Santa-inspired, Walton Family Christmas . . . this book isn't for you. This book is better. Four tales of vampires, angels, supernaturals and other strange folk who find their own love and Christmas spirit. Yes, please.

"Enchanted By Blood" by Laurie London is a yummy installment in her Sweetblood series. This tale of Trace and Charlotte evokes old-world glamour with a sexy twist as he navigates the danger of reuniting with the one who got away
It took me a long time to read this anthology, it just didn't hold my interest and I kept putting it down to read other books. I re-scheduled the review about three times. I got an ARC from netGalley to review.

I loved two out of the four stories in this book and really wished both would have been longer. I generally stay away from anthologies because I tend to not like most of the stories and think it's a waste of money. I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

A Vampire for Christmas by Laurie London, Michele Hauf, Caridad Pineiro, and Alexis Morgan

Four holiday stories featuring vampires:

Enchanted by Blood by Laurie London seems to be a short from her Sweetblood series which I must admit I’ve not read. The story was sweet but not my favorite of the four. Maybe if I was familiar with the series I would have enjoyed it more.

Monsters Don’t do Christmas by Michele Hauf was a fun story taking on the definition of the word monster.

Okay, this is the first time I've written a review for an anthology so it's going to be done almost the same way I do my other book reviews.

OMG y'all. My first Christmas book of the season and I loved it! I may be a little biased on the 5 purple hearts rating since I'm a huge Christmas themed book fan. Don't judge me. Laurie London – Enchanted by Blood

This story is part of her Sweetblood series, and I have not yet read it.

When Charlotte Grant is rescued from a pair of would-be-muggers by a handsome man, she does not know she has met Trace Westfalen before, or that they were in love once. As a vampire, Trace cannot marry a human, he is supposed to create children, and for that he needs a vampire wife. And so, after she witnessed something she really should not have seen, he had no choice but to erase her memor

When Herald Angels Sing by Caridad Pineiro

All I want for Christmas by Alexis Morgan

Since there are so many books, I can't do my normal thing for each and every one of them. This blog post would be ten freakin' pages long if I did that! So, I'll try to break it down as best I can

First of all I have to say for four “vampire” stories, the fact that they involve vampires seemed incidental. These stories felt more like a love stories to me – ok, ok, if you ignore the memory wipes and the vampire teeth, blah, blah – but you know what I mean. In all these stories the vampires seemed to not like that side of themselves and tried to suppress their “evil” natures.

These were four very well written short stories with wonderfully characters. I think you will find them quite enjoya
