Overall, eye opening. Growing up by the Fred Varley Art Gallery, I just pictured him as this old grumpy guy. He became that, but his youth and middle age were very dramatic...

I got what I deserved for my selfish reasoning choosing to read this book. I wanted to hear more about his time living in Unionville, my home town, at the end of his life. There were maybe two paragraphs devoted to this.

Fred Varley - one of the G7 members (am not talking about THAT G7 .... lol) ... the most controversial painter in the group, yet - some argue - the most talented of them all ...

Reading this, I was reminded of Van Gogh ....

Please read ....
