A beautifully illustrated book summarizing the history of African American Music in America. It is a great introductory music book for young children (advise for 8 yrs old and up) with original compositions by Leotha himself demonstrating each of the different African American music styles. The book not only includes the sheet music but also a tape with the songs on it as well. I found the songs very "catchy" especially "Brain Power".
