TO CATCH A SPIRIT by Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal contemporary romance that pairs two unique characters in an emotionally charged romance and ghost story.

Allison Gray is a psychic who works to help heal people, cleanse antiques of trapped spiritual essence and is afraid of ghosts after a failed ghost-busting assignment. While attending a party with her best friend, Tina, Allison is immediately struck with emotions of loneliness a

Logan (H) billionaire empath with Daddy issues, anger, depression and suicidal tendencies. Allison (h) a psychic empath good girl recovering from a ghostbusting stint at a mental hospital a year ago. Insta-empath/love/lust connection, a ghost in the H's house (he didn't know before he bought it), lots of back and forth that eventually seemed as if the H was emasculated at about 82%. This one just didn't fully work for me. The next book continues with the H/h best friends who hook up, fa

A couple's biggest obstacle between them is... a ghost?

Allison would rather be anywhere other than a house party with a bunch of rich snobs who only care about themselves and their money. And the handsome home owner is nice to look at but not enough of a reason to stay, even though her psychic ability shows her how sad and lonely he his. Then her night takes a strange turn when she comes across a guest who definitely wasn't on the invi

I really enjoyed this book by Carrie Pulkinen, it was my first book by her and hopefully will not be my last. In this book we meet Allison Dupuis, a psychic and Logan Mitchell an empath.

Logan knows what people feel-- which means he knows that all they want from him is money and sex. But when he first sees Allison he knows she is different.

I found Logan to be much more emotional/sensitive deep down. Normally this might have put me off the book but it didn't deter me fro

The synopsis for this book really reeled me in. A billionaire with OCD who's also an empath and has a ghost in his new mansion. Needs the ghost hunter gal. I inagined hijinks and more.

Humor wasnt the tone for the book but I went with it. It was very intense in terms of them falling for one another and quick to confess love. They were lusting not loving. I dont generally appreciate books that have this pace but i continued reading it.

I was enjoying this book but then we hit the 70% mark and afte

To say I liked this book would be an understatement. I loved this book! It scores a 6 in my mind (and that’s out of 5 stars).

Within the first couple of chapters, I felt like I knew Logan and Allison so well. Each chapter just pulled me further in and made me feel as if I was reading about my own close friends. The intricate friendship between Allison and Tina was wonderful and I found myself constantly comparing it to the one I share with my best friend. It was a perfect fit. Of course, Trent, G

This book is heavy romance with a ghost story woven in.

Allison is a medium/healer that works as a reiki healer and occasional ghost clearer. Her friend, a real-estate agent, invites her to a gathering at a wealthy client's house. Logan is a successful businessman with issues. He sees Allison and is immediately attracted to her. Unfortunately, she runs away before he can speak with her.

Logan has issues of his own. He can't commit to women because he's messed up in the head. He is OCD w

Allison accompanies her friend Tina to a party at Logan Mitchell’s home. Allison is her wingman as Tina networks and looks for slutty sex. Allison does not have a good impression of the people who attend these types of parties. Looking across the room she makes eye contact with Logan and feels a connection with him. Running from him she meets a woman in white who is crying. Allison tries to help her but the emotions she picks up from this woman are so strong that Allison is unable to stay or hel ...more

Very intriguing book, hold you attention beginning to end. I think the characters are very well thought out and written perfectly. You feel like you no them and you really like them as the story goes on. As for the story line i really enjoyed it. Very realistic. I'd say Carrie Pulkinen did her research well. I enjoyed the book i only felt that alot of the time the way Alison and Logan acted was a bit childish for my taste, at least for the age they were written as. (this is why i gave it 4 star ...more
So this didn't work for me.

I don't like best friends who constantly tell the heroine that she should just sleep around. That it's necessary for women to have fun and live life to the fullest and that contains sleeping with numerous (rich and beautiful) men, whom they meet at fancy parties. And when said heroine declines, she's labeled a prude. Wow. Totally true best friend. Not.

I don't like heroes who look at females like a pack of sheep. Everyone will do. Because hero has a problem (don't know

Wow! From page one, this fantastic offering from Carrie Pulkinen grabs on and refuses to let go until the end.

I expected a murder, as most psychic books seem to lean to, but what I got was a ghost. It was a decent read... mostly romance, though they jumped into bed quite fast and her not reading him and breaking up did not fit and was a turn off for me.

To Catch a Spirit is a paranormal romance standalone that will leave you wanting more. I must confess I was a little worried about reading it because, honestly, I have read so many paranormal romances that I pretty much know everything their plots have to offer. Nevertheless, there are times when I come across a refreshing novel that offers a unique view of classical themes. I am pleased to say this was the case.

I received this book as an ARC with the promise to leave an honest review. This is the first novel I have read by Carrie Pulkinen and after finishing To Catch A Spirit, I guarantee that I will be reading more.

Allison is psychic who's afraid of ghosts and Logan is a billionaire with a haunted past and a hidden power. Together can they fight a ghost and find true love?

What follows is a lovely story about human emotions and learning how to let go of the past. The story also covers topics such as de

I loved To Catch a Spirit when I read it as part of the Spirit Chasers: The Complete Series Box Set by Carrie Pulkinen which included three different books. The individual books included were: To Catch a Spirit, To Stop a Shadow, and To Free a Phantom. Each title is a stand alone book that focuses on a different ghost story and couple that fall in love. I loved the books in this series so much because they were entertaining reads that included a ghostly mystery to be solved and a unique romance ...more

Oops! This book has been waiting almost a year for me to read it - the joys of a large TBR pile!?
I'm really glad I've read it now.

So, this is a paranormal romance - you get a lot of good sexiness here. But it also comes along with a disturbed ghost.

As a Reiki Master, I love that there's a PNR with a Reiki practitioner in it.
Maybe the way those talents are used are a little dubious in places, but hey, it's a good story.

I really liked Logan - a vulnerable rich guy with OCD.

TO CATCH A SPIRIT is the first book in the Spirit Chasers series. They will need to be read in the order of release.

WOW! There was a lot of emotional punch packed into this story. The subjects of fear, OCD, depression, and suicide were all written about with great empathy and understanding.

I loved Allison and Logan; their unique gifts brought them together, drove them apart, and helped to heal them. They each have a best friend, Trent and Tina, who are perfect as the friends, but I think they ma

This was a sweet and deep story. It touches on anxiety issues and some OCD aswel. It could be frustrating sometimes, getting together was an issue then breaking up and fighting for each other again hahaha but I was hooked.

Allison is a psychic and after a traumatic episode she turns her back on her gift, well not fully turned her back. She has a 2 friends that tell it to her straight when she gets stupid, which is great. I do feel for Allison as life was hard on her, but I also wanted to shake he

This was my first time reading this author, and I have to say that I was certainly not disappointed. The plot was engaging, the imagery vivid, and the characters complex and well thought out. These characters completely draw you into the story and make you believe in this extraordinary world the author has created for us. They are real and raw and beautifully flawed in all the best ways. You just can't help but become invested in their lives, and rooting for them becomes second nature. Two lonel ...more

Carrie did a great job with the story line, making it feel so real and possible. Yes, this fiction, but it was realistic that you could see yourself in those situations. If you believe in the supernatural world, the one where spirits do cross over, and believe that people can truly reach inside your mind and body, should be drawn to this book.

Neither character is perfect but they are perfect together. I hope this is the first of a series. I would like to know what happens with the secondary char

This was my first time reading this author's work and I was very entertained! I stayed up way too late to read through this book and it was fantastic. Logan and Allison are two people who have wounded souls from past hurts and trying to live their daily lives with their special gifts. Throw in some issues of suicide, depression, OCD, being an empath, a medium and a healer, as well as being hurt by family members can really cause a lot of issues. As soon as these two meet they can't seam to stay ...more

I thought this book was great. It was addicting in a very subtle way. The blurb sounded good that I had to try it out. Once I started I could not put it down until I finished it. The writing was amazing and I loved the story line. I really liked that we heard both Logan and Allison's thoughts both good and bad throughout the book. Both carry baggage and do not want a relationship but end up in one despite themselves. They sabotage themselves a few times that made me groan. I basically read the b ...more

Great book! The characters in this book were very different but oh so interesting. Once I started on this book I didn't want to put it down. Logan and Allison were both struggling with problems in their life that kept them from enjoying themselves to the fullest possible extent. They each knew there was far more to the other person than shows on the surface but their fears made it difficult to open up. They were very attracted to each other and the way they manage to finally start to connect and ...more

Great characters and an interesting plot, I was hooked from the beginning to the end.

A psychic who is scared of ghosts is not something I remember seeing before and I love it when an author does something I've never seen before. The book also had lots of character development and a slow build in the main relationship which I think are both important for creating a believable story.

It wrapped up beautifully but I couldn't help wishing it was longer, not because anything was missing but I just was

Great paranormal story! This was my first Carrie Pulkinen's book. This is an Intriguing paranormal story. This is an instant-lust-love between Allison and Logan and they are great together. The story line is intriguing, captivating and steamy, with a HEA. This story is as good as expected. The narrator has a soft voice, easy to listen. Unfortunately, her pace was a little slow and monotonous, and it was difficult to stay concentrated. Maybe a better pace, more entertaining, could help to bring t ...more

Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance author who has always been fascinated with things that go bump in the night. Of course, when you grow up next door to a cemetery, the dead (and the undead) are hard to ignore. Pair that with her passion for writing and her love of a good happily-ever-after, and becoming a paranormal romance author seems like the only logical career choice.
