To be honest, this would not be a book I would naturally pick up; I’m more of a Rohr, Wright, & Enns kind of guy. Yet, in the same way that Franciscans hold a minority viewpoint in the larger sphere of Christendom, so too the charismatics.
There were some good reminders about the activity of God that resonated with my upbringing, a few caveats and flags that reminded me the book was written in the 1970s and, at the same time, some concepts I use today in my counselling practice. A real mixed bag.
I am often too much in my head, so this was a good refresher to remember that God is bigger than my logical brain, and that’s sometimes what you have to cling to!
