This book really dragged until page 106 when Penny finally made an appearance and the pace picked up. I prefer the books which feature Penny and Toby equally, but if one gets more ink than the other, I'd rather have Penny. I hope the last book gives both of them equal time.

Archaeologists and anthropologists in England, oh boy! One of my most favorite flavors of mystery! So I was very disappointed to not like this book at all, to have to force myself to pick it up and read a chapter every night ... slogging my way through it. The plot was slow to unfold, there were so many characters that it was difficult to keep up with them, let alone sort out who was involved and who wasn't. It was almost the end of the book before the plot finally gelled for me, and a most convoluted plot it was!
Obviously I can't recommend this book to you, gentle reader.

I've never read this author before. The story bowled right along and was interesting. A fun read!

Thud. The plot is beyond belief, and the execution poor.
