This is one of the worst designed books I've seen in a long time, as if some graphic artist wannabe was let loose with a page design program. Ugh! The headline fonts!!! I double-checked the publication date to be certain this wasn't from the 1970s, then I realized this was a Leisure Arts book so I understood... Captions were borderline insipid and I didn't want to chance wasting time on reading the text, so I was left looking at the profusion of photographs with their amateurish styling. To be sure, there were some projects that were good and interesting makeovers but, for me, there were more instances where I liked the before much more than the after. Be warned.

The ideas are solid, the execution is dated. But, there is a creative way of looking at old furniture.

This book was an easy read with lots of pictures of what was found at a flea market and how they fixed it up and used in in the home. I still just like my old stuff, and I have enough, but I enjoyed the book.

This book has absolutely fabulous furniture transformations. It has inspired me to turn an old end table I got for free on Craigslist into an ottoman. Great pics and easy instrux!
