When Austin McCade's wife dies, a vital part of him dies, too. The sexy single dad devotes himself to his motherless daughter and his work on the Diamondback Ranch. For twelve years, he ignores life and women . . . until a new pretty schoolteacher moves to town.

From the moment Theresa Rogers arrives in Salt Fork, Texas, people warn her about the lonely widower. He's a hopeless case, a lost cause. Third book in the Diamondback Series... Every book seems to make me believe in these Characters... I feel as if I know them.. that I am there in Texas with them...Truly laughed out loud reading this book.... Then so many moments when the sadness made me cry like a baby... Anne Marie truly puts her heart and soul into these book.. She makes Me stop and think!!! .. She also makes me come alive in these books ..The laughter the sadness the loss of life.. My own darling Husband died 12 years ago so I can empathize with Austin...Theresa saw beneath his exterior he showed the world.. would she be the one to break him down.. Make him see it was ok to love..I wish I could give this series more than 5 stars.. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS SERIES.. YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG...

Typical cowboy romance

This is the 3rd in the series and too many phrases are repeated from earlier books. A fluff read to take your mind away.

Austin McCade heart broke the day his wife died bringing his daughter into the world. He is living a half life, raising his daughter and working the family Diamondback Ranch. He avoids women and doesn't go out to have fun. But a certain school teacher, Miss Rogers, is starting to get to him and he doesn't like it. He warns her off, yet he can't resist kissing and touching her when he gets near her when they are alone.

Theresa Rogers knows she heed the warnings she received when first came to Salt Fork to stay away from Austin McCade, the lonely widower. But she sees beneath the surface, the deep emotions he has and his loyalty.
She wants to break through his impenetrable wall that surrounds his heart. Austin keeps warning her off. But they keep getting thrown together by stubborn and determined young girl who wants to see her dad happy, in love and living again. She also wants a mother.
When Theresa finally gives up, an accident happens that makes Austin sees that he loves her and can't live without her.
Austin and Theresa are a match made in Texas and Kelsey finally has a mother.

A Match Made in Texas was a good book to read. I enjoyed Kelsey's matchmaking skills and determination, quite entertaining. Though Austin was big A-hole, I didn't like him very much. Theresa was sweet and patient when it came to Austin and his warnings and attitude. But all in all, a good book.

This is the 3rd book in the Diamondback Ranch series. It can be read as a standalone. I love this series so far. The 1st book is, The Doctor Wears A Stetson. It was about high school sweethearts falling in love again 17 years later. The 2and book was, The Cowboy's Surrender . It was about a gruff cowboy that was mad because his sister in law had leased the mineral rights to his ranch. A company started drilling. He had a fierce attraction to Gillian who was over the drilling operation.

Book 3 in the series touched my heart. Kelsey wanted a mom. Her mom died when she was born. she felt guilty about her mothers death. She also wanted her dad to be happy. Austin had mourned his wife's death for 12 years. He loved his wife, for they were high school sweethearts. It killed him when she died, leaving him to raise Kelsey all alone. Kelsey knows who she wants to be her mom. She finds reasons for her dad, to spend time with her favorite teacher Theresa. The chemistry is there. sparks flew throughout the book. Austin is not ready to give his heart away just yet. There are times that he is a jerk. I was glad when he realized that his daughter was playing matchmaker. This is a really good book. I also loved all the other characters. A plane crash at the end had me holding my breath, and praying everyone was going to be okay. You will just have to read this book.

This is the 3rd book in the series that I have read. So far they all have 1 thing in common.... the main male characters are abusive jerks and the main female characters are weak and stupid. If I didn't already have them I would not have continued reading this series.

This was the worst so far.
I think Austin was suppose to come across as sensitive but the author failed in this. He was extremely emotionally abusive and completely selfish!
His daughter was (I think) suppose to be cute..another failure. She was a spoiled rotten brat!!
And then the school teacher...She had absolutely no respect for herself at all!!!

Some may ask why I keep reading these books....Well I will read anything if they are free to me..Encyclopedias, toothpaste tubes, etc, etc,

I LIKE THIS BOOK BUT IT WAS A LITTLE DRAWN OUT, (ANGST FOR DAYS). THE LEAD CHARACTER, AUSTIN WAS UNBELIEVABLE THE FIRST 91-92% OF THE BOOK HE WAS ONE GIANT A-HOLE NOT LIKABLE AT ALL. I UNDERSTAND WHAT CAUSED HIS BEHAVIOR BUT COME ON, REALLY DUDE. THE FEMALE THERESA HAD THE PATIENCE OF JOBE, SHE WAS WAY TO MATURE FOR HIM. I HAVE READ OTHER BOOKS IN THE "BLACK DIAMOND RANCE SERIES" THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I JUST COULDN'T LIKE THE MAIN MALE LEAD. I WAS STRUGGLING MOST OF THE BOOK WAITING FOR HIM TO GET HIS HEAD ON STRAIGHT AND OUTA HIS BACKSIDE. I ENJOYED THE BOOK ANYWAY EVEN THOUGH I WAS TALKING OUTLOUD TO MY KINDLEFIRE BEFOFE IT ENDED. GOT MY HEA FINALLY!!

Couldn't put it down

Wow, what is sweet little Kelsey up to? She has a 'project'- get Miss Rogers and her dad together. Miss Rogers is willing, but her dad is completely against it. After 12 years, he still morns her mom.
This is a heart wrenching story, but the chemistry between Theresa and Austin sizzles off the pages. As they navigate their relationship and try to resist the sexual attraction between them, it is entertaining, passionate, and heart-wrenching. I love the McCade clan, they are a great family that are very passionate and loving. I've enjoyed all of the books in this series, read the whole book in an evening, couldn't put it down.

I added this book to my high school shelf because I read the "sweeter" version which was an edited version -- sex removed. I still like this series and will continue reading to the end! I want to know what happens with each of the siblings!
I really enjoyed Austin's story -- maybe because I work in a school and love how kids' minds work! I've fallen in love with this family and feel I've been drawn into their everyday lives! Liked the "cliff hanger" too!

I liked this book. Although I have to say Austin really pissed me off. Had I been Theresa I would have told him to get lost and go fly a kite for as many times that he insulted her and was a total jerk! But in the end it all work out for everybody. I just loved his daughter's meddling to try to get them together. It was quite cute. I'm ready to read the next book in the series.

the guy is a jerk and the girl is a doormat. i don't like the characters. im not reading the next book because it will be just the same as the other two I read. he pushing her but wanting to have sex. and she letting him walk all over her. and reading two books with the same concept is too much for me. the third might make me want to kill myself.

The writing style was all right, but the actions and assumptions of the hero felt off to me. Found myself wanting to shake the heroine for reasons unlike the hero wanting to shake her. Not a wall-banger. but not a keeper either.

An honest to goodness tear jerker

While I really enjoyed the previous two stories, I loved this one. And I thought from the into I really didn't want to read it. I couldn't put it down! The characters seemed more honest and believable.

I'm ready for number 4.
