The perfect book for the small pack back and ideal for general observations and questions. "This book aims as far as possible to include within one pair of covers every animal and plant that the average countrygoer or visitor to the seashore is likely to see and want to recognise," say the authors. This quote summarises the book very well indeed. My copy has drawings (not photographs) and pencil drawings. Chapters include Trees and Climbers; Wild Flowers, Lower Plants and Fungi; Mammals, Birds, Butterflies and Moths; The Seashore; Farm Crops and Livestock. Overall, useful in the field and as a home reference source.
