How did her instant motherhood make Vanessa's boss a different man? While caring for the twins she'd inherited, Vanessa Valdez saw rancher Conall Donovan in a new light. Once a coldhearted businessman, he'd dropped everything to help her care for the newborns. And he was suddenly looking at her with passion in his eyes.

Though she'd been half in love with him for years, he'

Vanessa Valdez becomes an instant mother when her friend dies shortly after giving birth to twins. As secretary to Conall Donaldson of the Double D Ranch, she needs help and, although she doesn't expect it of him, he offers to help her come get the babies and even sets up a nursery for her.

Vanessa's known Conall all her life, but never imagined that the man she's secretly had a crush on since their school days would ever be interested in her. He is, which freaks her out. After all, she's his sec

I liked the conflict of sterility. It was a unique touch. Other than that there wasn't much happening. Sure there was a love conflict, but it got tiring. I wish there was more time with the babies. Babies are cute.

Such a great book, I devoured it in a couple of hours, however, something about it was very mediocre and the "what the heck" ending didn't really help matters either. Overall, a satisfactory read.

The writing style (particularly the abundance of exclamation marks) and the stilted dialogue made this a difficult read for me so it was a DNF.

Recommends it for: Anyone looking for a Prince/Prince style romance in the South/Western
Wow, yet another rags to riches type book. This western is truly every girls' "knight in shining white pick-up truck" expressed by Chichi in Too Wong Fu, Thanks for everything, Julie Newmar. Same old boy's sister's friend moves away and returns only to find herself working under boy, who was her long-lost crush. Fast forward and crazy happens to make boy love girl, and girl to finally say yes to a marriage proposal. Maybe I am just too hard on Romance novels but could it be a little more real. L ...more
