I was so happy when I noticed this book exists: I was more than ready to jump into this world and live throug some adventure with familiar characters. I have always loved all kind of mysteries and as a child I watched Scoopy Doo tv-series. I loved this little mystery story and I especially loved how different characters worked as a group.

SCOOBYGODIS!
Under all kritik. Läste den på svenska så kan ha varit felöversättning.
Annars en helt okej story.

“Scooby-Doo” by Gail Herman
#1 – Map in the Mystery Machine
Fun story by Gail Herman accompanied by colourful illustrations. Suitable for very young audiences as it's not too scary but enough mystery to be engaging.

This book is an early reader, apparently Kindergarten to Grade 2. However, as far as I am concerned any book featuring Scooby Doo is worth reading. The gang find what seems to them to be an old treasure map. However, the map does not lead them to a buried treasure but rather to an old building which apparently is to be a pizza place. There also seems to be a ghost trying to get people to avoid the pizza place on the map. An interesting little puzzle. Of course for readers of an older age it is likely to be much of a problem. However, for the younger set this may prove to be bit of mystery. Of course it is all in good fun. I suspect that the younger audience, which this book is intended for will get a bit more out of it than us older readers. Happy reading.

Consider this a review of the entire series.
The back covers list the recommended age of this series as Kindergarten to Grade 2. That is absolute nonsense. An accurate reading level of these would be Preschool to Kindergarten.
I wouldn't recommend these to anyone over five; these are very short books written in the most simplistic way possible with only the most basic vocabulary and grammar--not at all what I'd expect of a seven-year-old. This series is for children at the beginning of the learning to read process, not for children several years into schooling.
On the other hand, this is a very basic, very simple mystery that would hold the attention of a young child learning to read. Five-year-old and younger Scooby-Doo fans will likely adore the series, though parents will likely find it rather boring.

This is another fun book in the Scooby-Doo! Readers series. It's short, with lots of colorful illustrations and the mystery is not very scary.
We all love Scooby-Doo, so these books are a particular favorite at storytime. We enjoyed reading this story together.
March 2022 update: I purchased a 12-book set (the Scooby-Doo! Read & Solve series) and read each one again.

The story line was a bit lacking in this easy reader. However, Scooby Doo mysteries are always a hit with kiddos. As long as kids are reading I'm happy.
